Well structured evidence based book about NDE
Revisado: 04-25-25
I really liked that this was/is the research about NDEs that that claim to have an answer. It provides case studies and stories and tries to systemize it to see patterns. Whether you believe that NDE is hallucination or a proof life after death it will definitely be a good read.

Another view on humanity's development
Revisado: 04-24-25
At the core of this all is - do you believe in channelling and other dimensions or at least leave a room for possibility of it. If you do then this will be a light and positive read about how humans will evolve and that choice and will to do it is the underlying condition for it to happen. Book is well structured, narrators are pleasant to listen to and it leaves a positive aftertaste. Like a sweet pastry with good cup of tea in the rainy afternoon

Historia
Many famed music producers are known for a particular sound that has its day. Rick Rubin is known for something else: creating a space where artists of all different genres and traditions can home in on who they really are and what they really offer. He has made a practice of helping people transcend their self-imposed expectations in order to reconnect with a state of innocence from which the surprising becomes inevitable. Over the years, he has learned that being an artist isn’t about your specific output, it’s about your relationship to the world.

Bullet points of creative process
Revisado: 03-30-25
If you've been in the creative process, you will recognize most of what author says. So I look at this book as a set of post-it notes with reminders and a new tip or trick here and there. In general it's worth it's time. Especially if you start to doubt your creative capabilities. Not too long. Bell sounds for me were weird until the end, but OK they serve a meaning of going into new thought.

Don't shy away from word "fat"
Revisado: 03-13-25
While I understand author's wish to describe herself as fat, the same way as one describe herself tall or 38 years old, author explains connotation of the word as a result of oppression from thin people. Her examples are good, but they are just that - examples and personal experience. What I can take from this book is a reminder to respect each other and as long as person feels good on their body, no one has the right to preach to them otherwise. Also it was nice to hear a thought or two about too skinny people which is other end of size spectrum. If you haven't thought about the topic, it can be thought
provoking.

Aggressive rant about beautiful things
Revisado: 03-02-25
His story is interesting and his path unique, however except from couple of passages the whole book is very agressive. Tone of voice is agressive. Story telling is us vs. them. I don't know for whom this book is meant, but definitely not for you if you are already on your path of aligning with higher frequency. If you are in corporate world and seek for some mantra to say and feel more spiritual then maybe this version of audio is for you. Constant anger, calling everybody fools (for the sake of politeness in review) didn't leave me awake. It left me annoyed and disappointed about what could have inspiring turned out to be hours or ranting despite the good ideas it did have in the content.

Historia
Americans precede anything negative with three nice comments; French, Dutch, Israelis, and Germans get straight to the point; Latin Americans and Asians are steeped in hierarchy; Scandinavians think the best boss is just one of the crowd. It's no surprise that when they try and talk to each other, chaos breaks out. In The Culture Map, INSEAD professor Erin Meyer is your guide through this subtle, sometimes treacherous terrain in which people from starkly different backgrounds are expected to work harmoniously together.

Richness of examples
Revisado: 02-16-25
At times it felt too long, however, if you have never worked with(in) international teams, this is a great read. It is full with real life examples and though nothing applies to all as we all are sum of our worldly interactions, this book can be like a general guide to understand differences. This also would work well if G.Hofsteede's cultural quadrants seem to outdated or complicated.

If you know nothing about astrology, this is a great listen
Revisado: 07-14-24
As I've been familiar with astrology for a while, there wasn't much new things to me, however I liked author's approach to story - to take information as an option on how to look at and tackle everyday life. Content is easy to digest. Would have loved to have last chapter as PDF. It's a great summary to be printed out.

In this audiobook, Dr Bessel van der Kolk offers a new paradigm for effectively treating traumatic stress. Neither talking nor drug therapies have proven entirely satisfactory. With stories of his own work and those of specialists around the globe, The Body Keeps the Score sheds new light on the routes away from trauma - which lie in the regulation and syncing of body and mind, using sport, drama, yoga, mindfulness, meditation and other routes to equilibrium.

Fully packed with tools and stories
Revisado: 04-28-24
This books covers variety of tools to work with in all kinds of therapy. Tools are backed up with intense stories, some hard to believe that there are such cruel people in the world. Nevertheless, this is beautifully written and narrated. Some paragraphs were less of interest to me (went into physiology/ neurology too much), but some examples used, I will take with me for a long time. This book is wonderful example of mind-body-soul concept without going into esoteric.

We tend to believe that normality equals health. Yet what is the norm in the Western world? Mental illness is on an unstoppable rise. Some 45 percent of Europeans suffer high blood pressure, and nearly 70 percent of Americans take at least one prescription drug. Illness and trauma are defining how we live. In his new masterpiece, renowned physician, addiction expert and author Gabor Maté dissects the underlying causes of this malaise—physical and emotional, and connects the dots between our personal suffering and the pressures of modern-day living.

for various tastes
Revisado: 02-06-23
This book has various layers of story - from very individual to society and back again.
If you're not familiar with Mate's work, this book might be too much information at once. I recommend it then I'm small pieces / doses.
I was worried of co-author narrating the book, but Daniel Mate has wonderful voice and audiobook was pleasant to listen to.
I bought the physical book after I listened to this one. I is worth the money.
