Historia
Anna Fox lives alone - a recluse in her New York City home, unable to venture outside. She spends her day drinking wine (maybe too much), watching old movies, recalling happier times...and spying on her neighbors. Then the Russells move into the house across the way: a father, mother, their teenaged son. The perfect family. But when Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn't, her world begins to crumble. And its shocking secrets are laid bare.

Riveting-developed so eerily with so many turns. You don’t really identify with the main character until late in the story.

He's to hunt down and kill Reinhard Ernst - the ruthless architect of Hitler's clandestine rearmament.

Historia
Atlanta, 1974: It's Kate Murphy's first day on the job, and the Atlanta Police Department is seething after the murder of an officer. Before the day has barely begun, she already suspects she's not cut out to be a cop. Her male uniform is too big, she can't handle a gun, and she's rapidly learning that the APD is hardly a place that welcomes women. Worse still, in the ensuing manhunt she'll be partnered with Maggie Lawson, a cop with her own ax to grind.

Great structure!
Revisado: 12-20-14
If you could sum up Cop Town in three words, what would they be?
Great fem/cop story
Who was your favorite character and why?
Kate, naturally. Most of us have been there, new to a school, or a job, or a neighborhood,
Kate showed great courage.
What does Kathleen Early bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The trash talk was done so well, and added so much.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Almost did! Yes.

Narrator makes the difference
Revisado: 12-05-14
Would you listen to Revival again? Why?
A bit too gruesome end, typically of King's novels, but a great story.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Yes; the side effects always lurking in the back of the story became slowly the main cause of my "Readers Stress".
Have you listened to any of David Morse’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, but he did such a superb job changing from one character to another, that I will look for his name in future books.
Who was the most memorable character of Revival and why?
No doubt, the Reverend. His dramatic change after the death of his family made for a fascinating character.

Historia
The Sheltering Sky is a landmark of 20th-century literature, a novel of existential despair that examines the limits of humanity when it touches the unfathomable emptiness of the desert. Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Connelly (A Beautiful Mind, Requiem for a Dream) gives masterful voice to this American classic.

Depressilng!
Revisado: 12-23-13
What would have made The Sheltering Sky better?
Not ever being published
What was most disappointing about Paul Bowles’s story?
If I want to be this depressed in the future, I'll gamble away my savings.
Which character – as performed by Jennifer Connelly – was your favorite?
All three self-centered characters muddle about endlessly; so boring I almost dropped off to sleep while on my daily walk.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Not that I could see.

Historia
When avian flu began spreading across Asia in the early 2000s, it reawakened fears that had lain dormant for nearly a century. During the outbreak's deadliest years, Alan Sipress chased the virus as it infiltrated remote jungle villages and teeming cities and saw its mysteries elude the world's top scientists. In The Fatal Strain, Sipress details how socioeconomic and political realities in Asia make it the perfect petri dish in which the fast-mutating strain can become easily communicable among humans.

Narrator comments
Revisado: 01-10-10
One of the attributes of a good narrator is the ability to make believable different characters in a book by using different, unique voices. Mr. Wilson falls short on this ability. His voicing makes all individuals sound alike.
