Story was good, narrator had a mic problem.
Revisado: 01-08-20
Story: Good, but not great. The MC is barely even mentioned in this book. Otherwise the story was fine.
Performance: Valiant attempt, but they needed to even out the mic levels. Whenever he would switch voices, or try to shout for a scene, the audio levels would feel like a roller coaster. That may be fine in IRL talking, but trying to adjust the volume every 10 seconds to account for a different voice is very annoying. Besides that, the performance was great.
Overall: Questionably worth the credit for me.

Historia
Raised in the small town of Wushan, Linley is a scion of the Baruch clan, the clan of the once-legendary Dragonblood Warriors. Their fame once shook the world, but the clan is now so decrepit that even the heirlooms of the clan have been sold off. Their prospects seem dire...and yet, perhaps some power still remains within the veins of the clan. Dragons do not easily die, and neither do the dragonblooded.

Great book. Narration could use some editing.
Revisado: 12-29-19
Story: Great story, interesting, and without a doubt a worth a credit.
Performance: First few chapters is pretty bad and should either be edited or entirely redone. As it goes on the narration does get smoother, but there are some spots they tripped up on words that should have been edited out.
Translation: Great. There are some weird ways it goes about saying things sometimes, but you can't ever really ask for a perfect translation.
Overall: Definitely worth the money.

Great but flawed book. Deserves better ratings.
Revisado: 08-18-19
Things I liked:
Strong, interesting main character
Intriguing primary storyline
Well-developed world
Things I didn't like:
(minor spoiler)
Secondary storyline - Sera's perspective. Utterly useless story. Nothing interesting happens. Seems like filler. If you skip all of her perspectives in the book, you literally miss nothing. Thank god the author didn't focus much on this perspective.
If the entire book was only Raz's story, it would have been a 5 out of 5.

Historia
To the forest on the shore of the Kingdom of the Isles, the orphan Pug came to study with the master magician Kulgan. But though his courage won him a place at court and the heart of a lovely princess, he was ill at ease with the normal ways of wizardry. Yet Pug's strange sort of magic would one day change forever the fates of two worlds. For dark beings from another world had opened a rift in the fabric of spacetime to being again the age-old battle between the forces of Order and Chaos.

Interesting book. Not sure I'll finish it.
Revisado: 07-14-19
Made it to about 2 hours left. Not sure if I'll finish it.
Story is great for the first half or so. Great writing, well-rounded characters, interesting story. Very engaging.
The second half of the book is 'eh'.
If you don't care about the main character just being dropped from existence for at least hours 8 -> 16 then this book is great.
I'd argue the side characters (Thomas or Roland) would be considered far more developed than Pug is at this point.
I'm sure the series will eventually get to developing Pug, but a 17 hour book and only one instance of him (a magician) using magic in the first like 2 hours is kind of dumb to me (and being ignored in the book for the last 8 hours). It doesn't portend good things for the rest of the books in the series.
I'd like to rename the book to be - Possible Magician: Disappears.
Perhaps if I get bored I'll come back to finishing this book/series. Otherwise, it'll sit in the graveyard.
EDIT: Finished the last 2 hours. MC still didn't show up. Is he even the MC anymore?

Great book, only a few gripes
Revisado: 06-21-19
Overall: The book was great. It held my attention most of the time and had a fairly interesting story. I'd personally recommend it to anyone looking for a book like this. Performance was great as well. No complaints there.
Few gripes:
1. The story did have a lack of focus. MC didn't seem to be doing a whole lot besides just living his life with some interesting occurrences mixed in. That didn't leave a whole lot of room for change in the story.
ALERT Possible spoiler -
2. The whole Daliah (is that how to spell her name?) relationship. Not a fan of how the author went about that. Everything seemed to be blamed on the MC despite him clearly being busy, used by her, and ignored a good chunk of the time. Relationships are a two way street. Idk why book authors seem to blame the dude like 90% of the time when every single allegation against the MC (in this case anyway) could just as easily be made against the GF.

Fine for a time waster; Not the series it once was
Revisado: 12-04-18
Story was meh. It just seemed like a wild goose chase more than anything else.
Frisha/Malcious were whiney as hell throughout the book. Honestly if they were just killed off in the third book, this book would have been the better for it. I honestly have no clue why anyone would want to read about those characters.
Skip all the parts with Frisha and Malcious, then the story probably moves up to a 4/5.
Performance was spot on. I'd even go so far as to say Nick did so well on the narration that I hate Frisha and Malcious even more because of it. Congrats, that is true workmanship.

I've read a lot of litrpgs and this one stands out as actually being interesting. It doesn't follow the mold that 95% of litrpgs fall into now a days and is a different take on the genre. I was a fan of the characters, world, and whole premise of the book. I didn't see any glaring faults and i'm usually quite critical of these kinds of books. Great book. I honestly have no clue why it isn't rated better than it is.

Great plot; Senseless sexual assult/rape scenes
Revisado: 09-02-18
This book doesn't understand what genre/age-range it is trying to hit on. The characters in this book are in high school (aka 15 years old) and the general feel of the book is a Young Adult fantasy with some dark undertones to it, yet it has countless sexual assault scenes and even a rape scene on one of the characters. I honestly don't get where the author was trying to go with this book. It took way too dark of a turn for Young Adult books, yet it doesn't have the feel or the age-range of the characters for a reader in their 20s or older to really get into it. Especially since characters make decisions that only a teen could really understand (so you get pissed at all the terrible decisions they make).
I honestly just don't get where the author was going with this book. If he took out most of the sexual assault scenes and the rape scene then the book would be great for darker young adults. If he made all the characters in their 20s or 30s then it would be great for older adults since they could stomach it easier and for the adults that like darker books. Right now it basically just sounds like a dark child soft-core porno and i feel awkward even just as someone in my early 20s reading it lol.

I don't see why so many people don't like this book. I've read an insane amount of litrpgs throughout my audible career and this is up with some of the best of them. Great story, pretty good characters (though a bit flatter than i would have liked) and a generally fun time. I couldn't have asked for a much better book.

Good story, but too many logical flaws
Revisado: 08-23-18
The general story itself was fine in how it played out. The problem is that pretty much every bad situation they get into is forced by the author to happen. This is done either via stupendously poor decision making by the characters (aka they were forced by the author since they wouldn't otherwise do it) or a general situation that doesn't feel like it would have played out without author intervention to force it to. For example (spoiler alert!) when they were betrayed by their fellow amazon and ambushed, they were camping in an area completely surrounded by high grass when they had just left a perfectly defensible cave structure. That doesn't exactly sound like a tactically great place to camp or a great place to check for betrayers considering they could just escape into the grass... Taking into account that the GOD OF WAR or an amazon should have noticed this, the situation was massively forced by the author. Then in the following scuffle his bracers were stolen off of his arms instantly.. How the hell would someone steal a bracer if it was on someone's arm?? Those things are tied or buckled on, you'd have less trouble ripping off someone's arm than pulling a bracer off without untying it. Unless the author has never seen a bracer before and this was due to a lack of knowledge, the situation was manufactured by that author pretty terribly.
