In Medieval times, Comedy was synonymous with tragedy. This is one of the first media experiences I’ve ever had to remind me of that. The hilarious tales of the gas station are also dark and sad and truly make you question your life… I highly recommend this tale for anyone looking for some unique horror, a good laugh, or just some classic existential dread. Over all, my favorite Internet story has become my favorite book. Plus, it’s read by the same man who read it to me the first time…

Great premise, great narration, very interesting story but we get dropped off at the beginning and rather starkly at the end - my response at the very end was, “Are you kidding me, that’s where you end it?”

What would have made The Compound Effect better?

The book could benefit from a lot less fluffy, fictional accounts and made up stories and more substance. The Compound Effect is a serious and real phenomenon to success but the author chose the easy path...

Has The Compound Effect turned you off from other books in this genre?

Somewhat

What didn’t you like about Darren Hardy’s performance?

The performance was fine, the content was incredibly weak

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment and anger...

Any additional comments?

There are so many tangible real stories of the power of the compound effect in life, it's a tragedy that the author talked to so many fictional stories that discount it's effect. For example, three men are about the same age and weight and one reads therefore in 3 years he is going to have a happier marriage. One bake's therefore he is not going to be happy. There are about a billion other factors that could shape the fictional outcome that the book speaks to - the author's course is intellectually dishonest and disappointing...

This book is just... Boring. I really wish it was more entertaining, but sadly it is not the most captivating of tales.
