Historia
The truly cultivated person is not the one who has read a book but the one who understands the book's place in our culture. Using examples from authors and movies, Bayard examines the many kinds of "non-reading" and urges us to consider what reading means and how we absorb books as a part of ourselves.

Peak Irony
Revisado: 02-06-22
A book that tries to discourage you from reading. Ironic.
I'm not sure what I expected given the title, but certainly not that. an easy skip, you're not missing anything.

Historia
Our brains do their best to help us out, but every so often they can be real assholes - having meltdowns, getting addicted to things, or shutting down completely at the worst possible moments. Your brain knows it's not good to do these things, but it can't help it sometimes - especially if it's obsessing about trauma it can't overcome. That's where this life-changing book comes in. With humor, patience, science, and lots of good-ole swearing, Dr. Faith explains what's going on in your skull, and talks you through the process of retraining your brain to respond appropriately....

Untuck this recording quality

The audio quality is no worse than a podcast.
Revisado: 09-02-21
I see alot of people in the reviews complaining about the audio quality, might just be me because I listen to alot of podcasts, but I didn't find it that bad. The writer is unfiltered which I did actually appreciate and enjoy. She did use alot of language, but I found her relatable and it didn't take away from any of her points. Overall, yeah, I enjoyed it quite a bit.
