Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Amazing. Astounding. Masterful.
Revisado: 07-02-22
Went back and forth for some time, trying to decide if it was worth a credit.
This was the best book I’ve experienced in years. Blew me away.
I will give no spoilers. Science fiction at it’s finest, and Ray Porter completely nails it, per usual.

Historia
Once he was a hero of the Great War, and then a member of the dreaded Black House. Now he is the criminal linchpin of Low Town. His name is Warden. He thought he had left the war behind him, but a summons from up above brings the past sharply, uncomfortably, back into focus. General Montgomery's daughter is missing somewhere in Low Town, searching for clues about her brother's murder. The General wants her found, before the stinking streets can lay claim to her, too.

GREAT novel, the narrator though...
Revisado: 05-04-20
The narrator of book one, Mr. Shapiro, is so unbelievably good for this part, that it defies logic as to why a switch was made for book two.
The author, Mr. Polansky, is also very skilled. I love his books. If you haven’t read/listened to “A City Dreaming”, as yet, it is also highly recommended. The narrator for THAT novel (Mr. Meyers) is likewise perfect.
However. This guy, Mat Godfrey. I have no idea what happened here, but man, swing and a miss. I get he had some rather large shoes to fill, but seriously, I’ve literally been waiting years for books two and three in this series to make it to Audible, and this is pretty disappointing.

There, he discovers that though the Prador remain as murderous as ever, they are not anywhere near as treacherous or dangerous as some of his fellow humans.

Really good book
Revisado: 03-12-15
One of Asher's best, in my opinion. Love the evolution of techno-Bond. It's great to see how Cormac got his start.

Historia
The second crime novel by internationally best-selling writer Eoin Colfer is a gritty and utterly compelling follow-up to the critically acclaimed Plugged. In Screwed, Colfer adds an entirely new chapter to the adventures and misadventures of Daniel McEvoy, the down-on-his-luck Irish bouncer at a seedy New Jersey bar who, with the help of a motley crew of unlikely characters, solved a bizarre string of murders - including the one of the girl he loved. But people around him continue to die mysteriously, and Daniel is called into action once again.

Historia
Ernest Hemingway said, “All modern American literature comes from one book by Mark Twain called Huckleberry Finn". One hundred years after its author’s death, this classic remains remarkably modern and poignantly relevant. In this new edition, Elijah Wood reads Huck in a youthful voice that may be the closest interpretation to Twain’s original intent. His performance captures the excitement and confusion of adolescence and adventure.

Elijah Wood does an unbelievably fantastic job reading one of the most ridiculously good books ever written. Stop looking, just buy it.
