Historia
Molly Murphy has finally begun to forget the unpleasant murder of a would-be rapist back in Ireland, not to mention her investigation into the murder of a fellow recent Irish immigrant, and is finally free to begin her life in New York City. Given her experiences so far in the New World, Molly has decided that her first order of business is to become a private investigator, a people finder of sorts, working for families in Europe who've lost touch with relatives in America.

Not My Type of Western
Revisado: 01-22-23
The story was to Sci-fi for my taste and the F- bombs were in almost every chapter, which I didn't care for either. The narrator was good.

Historia
Thirty-nine was a fantastic year. I was married to the man I loved. I had a body that worked without creaking. My grandma, who raised me, was still healthy, and life was pretty damned good. But as they say, all good things come to an end. One year later, I’m a widow. My joints are starting to ache. Gram is in the nursing home, and dead people think my home is some kind of supernatural bed-and-breakfast. Gluing body parts onto semi-transparent people has become a side job - deceased people I’m not even sure are actually there.

Worst Book Ever
Revisado: 01-14-23
I barely made it to the end. Story was terrible along with the narrator. She practically yelled or screamed the entire time. Worst book ever. I can't even say, "At least it was free".

Not My Favorite
Revisado: 12-27-22
The story was ok, and I thought the narrators were excellent. I did like the 3 characters' viewpoints and having different voices for each. What I didn't like was the descriptions of sex with a young teenager (rape actually even tho she didn't see it that way) and her cutting herself to deal with her problems. I'm more of a cozy mystery reader.

It seems like the perfect job. Great wages, accommodation provided and all located within the walls of Highwood Hall, a stunning stately home owned by the Howard family. Not many little girls dream of becoming a maid, but this is an opportunity for me to get back on my feet. And for me to revisit my past....

Could hardly stop listening. I would think, just one more chapter and when it ended, I would repeat my mantra, just one more... The narrator was excellent, loved the sound of her voice and the other characters she portrayed. Don't pass this book up!

Love, Love, Loved It!
Revisado: 12-19-22
A well written story and loved everything about it. It is a book that you can't wait to finish, then sad when it is over. I don't think there will be another book in this series as the author wraps it all up when the war ends.

Now there's a très bigger story in Pelican, Louisiana: the upcoming nuptials between Police Chief Rufus Durand and Vanessa Fleer. Maggie Crozat, inexplicably tasked with being Vanessa's maid of honor, quickly discovers why everyone else refused the assignment when the bridezilla hands her a long list of duties.

Not Impressed
Revisado: 12-19-22
It was tiring to listen to the annoying criticism about the bride-to-be and her family from the main character. It was meant to be amusing, but I found it to be a negative flaw not only to the plot but to her personality. I felt like saying, "Grow up! You aren't the saint you pretend to be to your fake friend and then be soooo caring to Bo's son." The ending was good but that was about all I liked about this book. Not sure if I will continue the series.

Absolutely Love It!
Revisado: 12-05-22
I loved the plot and all of the characters. Learned a lot from the time period as well. Took place in 1901. Made me wonder if my grandparents had a similar experience when they arrived on Ellis Island, minus a murder of course! The narrator's accent was easy to listen to and understand. Made the story all the more interesting! Didn't realize it was a series, and I can't wait to listen to book #2.

You will die laughing in so many of the situations the Sinful ladies get themselves into while trying to solve the murder to get their friend, Fortune, off the suspect list! I can't wait to finish the book, then I'm sad when it concludes. Luckily, this is a series and I can't wait to listen to the next one!

Eli's trip to London with his uncle Harry quickly turns homicidal when the older magician finds himself accused of murder. A second slaying does little to take the spotlight off Harry. Instead it's clear someone is knocking off Harry's elderly peers in bizarrely effective ways. But who? The odd gets odder when the prime suspect appears to be a bitter performer with a grudge who committed suicide over 30 years before. While Eli struggles to prove his uncle's innocence - and keep them both alive - he finds himself embroiled in a battle of his own.

Very good story and loved the romantic ending! Had to wipe away a tear! The narrator is still irritating for me for the older voices but ... oh, well, I still enjoy listening to it non the less.
