Long time Butcher fan joyfully listening to one of my favorite world builders. Kudos to the decision makers who have always kept the audio production quality high and deep and heartfelt thanks for such talented narrators. E.M. Is particularly outstanding in this series. Can’t wait for the Olympian Affair!!

Tech errors

This set has a some kind of tech flaw. Every time I paused the book, it would throw an error and not play back. I had to delete the book and re-download the entire thing to continue listening. I’ve been with Audible for over a decade and never had this problem. I hope it gets sorted, the stories and narrators were good, the playback error just made this a frustrating listen.

Enjoying the long awaited book so much! It’s been so long though that James Marsters forgot that Ramirez is Latino....😂 suddenly he sounds like a grouchy cowboy.

Refreshing new storyline!

Well Played Molly Harper! I throughly enjoyed this entirely new world and storyline crafting. I can not wait to see where this intriguing rabbit hole leads next. I very much enjoyed that this book is truly YA/teen appropriate without falling into the trap of becoming overly romance driven or too graphic for comfort. Thank you so much for writing a book I can wholeheartedly share with my teen kids.

Absolutely enjoyable.

A fun Steampunk styled Victorian mystery. It is not perfectly British, it is not simply a romance, it is not overtly Steampunk. The Mystery style is excellent not too easy yet not so vague you are left doubting the clues. Well written, with characters you will want to find out more about. It draws you in and while the ending wraps up this tale nicely there are still unknowns and a nice set up for adventures in the second book.
I was happily surprised with this tale!!

Unexpected joy.

I don't write a lot of reviews. I am an avid audio book listener who hangs out almost exclusively in the sci-fi fantasy category. But, each Spring I find myself enjoying self help books from organization, to procrastination, to affirmation, optimization. I find Spring the perfect time to clean up my act, focus my muzzy Winter brain, and seek once again clarity. So in light of that, imagine my unexpected joy in listening not to a 9 step plan carefully outlined to cultivate a habit of less screen time but instead a deeply moving examination of what truly matters.

Over dramatic narrator

I really enjoyed this story and look forward to seeing where it goes. The narrator was too breathless and intense for much of the story and kept an intense pace with almost no variation. I found is so distracting in the beginning it was irritating. Later I became used to it but it really diminished the quality of the an otherwise enchanting book.

Rothfuss is a new voice...and you don't want to miss this book. If you are any kind of a fan of Fantasy this is a must listen.

EPIC

This book may not be on the well worn list of must reads for this genere yet...but it will be. Rothfuss has found a voice that is both unique and powerful. It also has a deep thread of truth and unless he completely fumbles his ending it is going to be EPIC. You will not know exactly where this story is going, and you will be checking the authors blog to see when the next book will be published.
