Charming Paris Mystery
Revisado: 09-21-21
Easy to be transported to the streets of Paris in this charming mystery. Complex, nuanced portrayal of Parisian cafe life, love and intrigue. Sir Hugh is a perfect choice as narrator. His amazing command of accents brings the characters and story to life. Highly recommend!

Historia
The rich are not like us. When it rains, they simply fly away, taking their secrets with them. On the Cote d'Azur, a missing journalist becomes an insider, offering his best friend a very special invitation to leave Paris for a masquerade ball at the Darimus Mansion in Antibes. New Year's Eve on the French Riviera? In the company of the rich and royal? How could Jamie Litton say no? It is more than this mystery writer could imagine. And as Ben Foulof has planned, more than his enemies had expected.

One of my favorites of this mystery series!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Absolutely!
Any additional comments?
I became addicted to this mystery series after my first trip to Paris a few years ago. After the first book, I was hooked! It was easy to get drawn into the characters' lives and I was always eager for the next book to come out. Too Rich for Rain was one of my favorites. When I saw the audio versions being released, I tried the first one and fell in love again. Ian Miller has the perfect voice and it allows me to relax, close my eyes and feel like I'm watching a movie.

Historia
Paris was a property owner's paradise, a place where renters far exceeded the inventory of apartments. So why had the beautiful young French woman been so willing to offer a perfect stranger, an American, her apartment and one month free rent? Yes, there were less expensive places in the world to live, but Zack's heart was set on a place of his own in the 6th Arrondissement. And yes, it did matter that it was in this particular neighborhood, where Gertrude Stein had lived and Hemingway had walked.

Having always dreamed of an apartment in Paris, the title caught my eye and I read the original book several years ago. It captured my interest from the first page. Mysterious, charming, funny...lots of twists and turns...delightful read. When I saw the audible version was available, I tried the sample and fell in love with Steve Ember's voice. It's my new favorite thing to relax and let someone else read to me! The book was just as much fun the second time!
