Historia
A dead river. A dying town. A killer's secrets.... In an isolated country town ravaged by drought, a charismatic young priest opens fire on his congregation, killing five men before being shot dead himself. A year later, journalist Martin Scarsden arrives in Riversend to write a feature on the anniversary of the tragedy. But the stories he hears from the locals don't fit with the accepted version of events. Just as Martin believes he is making headway, a shocking discovery rocks the town.

Multidimensional performance by Degas
Revisado: 09-09-21
A tightly woven intricate description of love and death played out on a rich Australian canvas, beautifully brought to life through the talented Degas. A story so rich I will listen again; Hammer’s description of Australian landscapes are rewarding.

But with the growing threat from Moscow Centre, the office has one more job for him. Nat is to take over The Haven, a defunct substation of London General with a rag-tag band of spies. The only bright light on the team is young Florence, who has her eye on Russia Department and a Ukrainian oligarch with a finger in the Russia pie.

A mea culpa of sorts
Revisado: 12-20-19
Best listened to after Cornwall’s biography. You get a strong sense of his emotional breadth as a narrator in the biography, which makes the various accents he calls upon in this reading entertaining. I’m a diehard fan having read everything and then gone back and listened to it again. This books marks time well as a reflection and maybe a mea culpa of sorts.
