I think it’s a great mix of humor, spice, and seriousness. Honestly there are some great moments and even in the serious ones you still get the boxer making jokes or lightening the situation even when it’s fight super powered gang members. I think it’s something you’d expect from a college kid who just got powers

Honestly the main character is a B word. He just complains and moans about everything then he’ll say it’s the way things are then immediately proceeds to complain more. He also gets mad at a lot of things that don’t make sense at all. Great overall story but the author made a crap character for the lead

So in this book mc fights monsters for the first time since winning a tournament using a sword and using it pretty well. So when he’s prepping to go on this journey where he knows he’ll be fighting monsters and the such he doesn’t get a sword even for self defense it’s just kinda stupid in my opinion

Really great but one big problem

So tbh I’ve really enjoyed this and I love this narrator he’s great. But one big problem is that our main character was explained how to identify items, people etc but not once since that explanation at the beginning of the book has there been any identifying of anything no items or monsters so for the monsters it’s like the cast of characters are just playing guessing games on what different monsters are. Idk this detail really bugged me

Main Characters problem.

So this is my 3rd or 4th time re listening to this series and I genuinely enjoy it. One thing I want to mention and that my mind has changed on these past re listens is how crappy of a person Jason is. It’s mentioned multiple times throughout the book by himself and other characters but he’s an Arrogant prick who likes manipulating people. He doesn’t do heinous things when he does, he’s relatively a good guy but he just comes off more and more childish. And the thing I dislike the most is how sure he is in his stances on certain things like he’s experienced so much in a small town in Australia in the 23 years he’s been alive. Sorry to rant on here like this and I think with all the other elements of this story it’s worth the read/listen and I can handle disliking a mc while still enjoying the story he or she is in.

Good story concept and world design

Minor spoiler about some of the base building in this review be warned.




I’ve really enjoyed the story and the power system in place. I’m still new somewhat to litrpg’s and the different power systems so I don’t know if it’s unique but I do like it. I’ve only got one problem and it’s how naive the main character and his 2 main companions can be at times. One example is when a requirement shows up for upgrading the core of their base that says they must win or prevent a guild/faction war they kind of brush past it and think it’s not a possibility or at least that’s what I felt from that part. But they didn’t seem to acknowledge or think of how yes the world has changed but the simple fact that if one country or civilization wanted what another had it’s very common to go to war and try to take it. These are my thoughts on it but I could be wrong or have mistaken that situation either way I do think this is a solid book and look forward to the next one.

So I’m only half way through but I’m honestly loving every moment of this fricking book. I’ll just drop a name but we meet a very key character named Sandy and I love him. That’s all and have fun meeting Sandy everyone
