Historia
The Prophet is a masterpiece of poetic prose written by Lebanese born; American Poet: Kahlil Gibran - exploring social morality through the lense of a profoundly moving spirit. The audiobook invites the listener to reimagine The Prophet through the voice of Almitra as it was originally written. The words of The Prophet have been spoken in marriage ceremonies, used to explain birth and death, and given even more depth and breadth to love, joy and sorrow.

Almitra's point of view? Mind Blown!
Revisado: 12-01-20
I had never considered the author writing this piece from Almitra's perspective but hearing it makes perfect sense! I cannot say enough good. The book was already one of my personal spiritual go-to's but now it has a whole new life in my heart!
The music took me to another world. I could listen to a whole CD of just the music but then add the narrator's rich, soulful voice and I am hooked. Listening to Emma Dawn narrate this book transported me to the feet of The Prophet with the realness and passion in her delivery. It was obvious to me that it is a book the narrator loved as much as I do.
I will listen to this again and again! So good and the perfect length for an afternoon escape.

Mental Motorcycle Multitool
Revisado: 10-29-20
If there is one multitool you need to carry with you as a motorcycle rider, it is The American Road Runner Motorcycle Show! Bob Marshall is an incredible resource when it comes to all things motorcycle. This is a guy who has traversed the country, torn down and rebuilt his rides and has a vast network of some of the most innovative and daring motorcycle builders, racers and badasses in the country. If you need to know it, one of his show episodes is surely to have discussed it. I learn and gain confidence from listening and it is pretty entertaining too!

Historia
One man and his home-built, two-wheeled machine competing in an illegal, outlaw chopper motorcycle road race across America known as The Stampede. His motorcycle is a true ugly, unpopular style of chopper with no frills, chrome, or shocks running hard from west to east as fast as possible - without stopping. Middle age is approaching. His life has taken a dramatic turn lately with his wife divorcing him, children scattering, a new younger girlfriend in the picture, and a mistress that fills his mind. Time in the saddle running on his own road is just what he needs.

What a race!
Revisado: 10-16-20
Author Bob Marshall takes us on a journey through life, death, divorce, family, mid-life crisis, masculinity, mechanics and self reflection on the highways of a country that gives him the freedom to be true to himself. This book made me want to learn to ride a motorcycle and buy my first scoot. hearing Bob read his own words and experiencing the raw emotion, exhaustion and elation in his voice brought the story low to my ear as if told by an old friend late night by the fire. This was a great read but an even better listen, especially on two wheels dodging cagers and watching the night for roadrunners, coyotes and deer.

i had to stop 3 minutes in. i cannot handle the narration. i wont ever know if this is a good book. a narrator should never walk into a restaurant kitchen and insist on cooking their own food. likewise an cook should never narrate their own book. ugh. terrible idea.

A rising star at a preeminent political lobbying firm, Dag Calhoun represents the world’s most powerful technology and energy executives. But when a close brush with death reveals that the influence he wields makes him a target, impossible cracks appear in his perfect life. Like everyone else, Dag relies on his digital feed for everything - a feed that is as personal as it is pervasive, and may not be as private as it seems. As he struggles to make sense of the dark forces closing in on him, he discovers that activists are hijacking the feed to manipulate markets and governments.
