Historia
The Waves traces the lives of six friends from childhood to old age. It was written when Virginia Woolf was at the height of her experimental powers, and she allows each character to tell their own story, through powerful, poetic monologues. By listening to these voices struggling to impose order and meaning on their lives, we are drawn into a literary journey that stunningly reproduces the complex, confusing and contradictory nature of human experience. It is read with affection and skill by Frances Jeater.

Sometimes you simply need that.
At 2am I listened; not thinking, just letting the words wash over me.

Historia
Here are the thrills, grandeur, and unabashed fun of the Greek myths, stylishly retold by Stephen Fry. The legendary writer, actor, and comedian breathes life into ancient tales, from Pandora's box to Prometheus's fire, and transforms the adventures of Zeus and the Olympians into emotionally resonant and deeply funny stories, without losing any of their original wonder. Learned notes from the author offer rich cultural context. This volume is a doorway into a captivating world.

Perfect introduction to Greek mythology.
Revisado: 04-05-20
This is a perfect introduction to Greek mythology. It is informative, entertaining, and intelligent without being condescending. I must admit that I gave the story rating only four stars because this book did not cover any of the Trojan war or its aftermath. But that is my own personal misgiving; one which Mr. Fry does explain in his afterword, noting that the inclusion of these tales would effectively render the book as having such as length as to be unlistenable. All in all, though, it was thoroughly enjoyable.
