Historia
Nora Trier catches thieves. As a forensic accountant, she’s unearthed millions in every corner of the world. She prides herself on her independence, the most essential currency of accounting, until her firm is hired by Strike. An anti-corporate, feminist athletic empire, Strike is owned by Logan Russo and her husband, Gregg Abbott. They’re about to host a major tournament with 20 million dollars in prize money, and the chance for the champion to become the new face of the company. But Gregg suspects his wife already has a new face in mind in the form of a young trainer.

Any book written and published gets 3 stars as a baseline. I'm not an accountant so the story line failed to appeal to me.

Historia
Detective Chief Inspector Simon Serrailler, first introduced in The Various Haunts of Men, is on a painting holiday in Venice when he is summoned home by a telephone call. He has family problems to face, and the stress and grind of running a busy police station. When a little boy is snatched as he stands with his satchel at the gate of his home, waiting for his lift to school, an ordinary community realises that terror and evil are in their very midst.

That's it for me
Revisado: 05-12-16
I hate books without endings. Please don't tell me that what Hill wrote in the last chapter was the ending. This one "ended" not with a bang, not with a whimper but rather petered out. No more Susan Hill for me. Steven Pacey is a good narrator--worth more listening.

Why Not?
Revisado: 04-26-16
Why not fill a "whodunit" with suspects and then introduce the killer out of thin air? Because it's dumb, that's why. The performance could have saved simply poorly written book. Nice job by Mr. Ryan.

Historia
Jack Caffery's newest case seems like a routine carjacking, a crime he's seen plenty of times before. But as the hours tick by and his investigation morphs into a nightmare, he realizes the sickening truth: the thief wasn't after the car, but the eleven-year-old girl in the backseat. Meanwhile, police diver Sergeant Flea Marley is pursuing her own theory of the case, and what she finds in an abandoned, half-submerged tunnel could put her in grave danger.

I down graded my review on second listen
Revisado: 03-06-16
This is one of a good but not great series. This segment is low point int Mo's effort. Skip it and you will not have missed much. Awful narration is a major part of the problem. The ending should have been an epiloge and much shorter. The very end was just plain "sappy."

Historia
Daemon is firmly in control, using an expanded network of real-world, dispossessed darknet operatives to tear apart civilization and rebuild it anew. Soon civil war breaks out in the American Midwest, in a brutal wave of violence that becomes known as the Corn Rebellion. Former detective Pete Sebeck, now the Daemon's most powerful - though reluctant - operative, must lead a small band of enlightened humans toward a populist movement designed to protect the new world order. But the private armies of global business are preparing to crush the Daemon once and for all.

I've changed my evaluation with a caveat
Revisado: 02-28-16
This is the first book in the series I read. It made little if any sense so I gave it one star. I re-read it after reading the first book. Now it makes sense and deserves 4 stars. These make a good two-book read. Caveat: read them in order!

Historia
John Wells has just barely managed to stop an operation designed to drive the United States and Iran into war, but the instigator himself disappeared behind an impenetrable wall of security. Now it's time for him to pay, and Wells has made it his personal mission. There are plenty of crosscurrents at work, though. The White House doesn't want anybody stirring the pot; his old CIA bosses have their own agendas; and other countries are starting to sniff around, sensing something unusual.

Great Entertainment
Revisado: 02-10-16
Disclosure: This is not my genre. That said, I have enjoyed this series. The stories are well crafted. Everything seems to fit without being transparent. The characters are consistently drawn story to story. Throughout there is very little call for suspension of disbelief despite inherent unreality. George Guidall’s narration adds to the quality of the series. I’ve given each 4 stars but would give the series 5. In short, these stories are great entertainment for very little effort on the part of the listener. I wish this episode had given more "closure" but I'm sure I'll listen to the next installment.

Historia
For CIA operative John Wells, the underworld has become more real than the real world. He's spent years in the close company of evil men. And he's paid the price in every possible way. Now, he's on the ragged edge of burnout. His nights are plagued by twisted dreams. He's beginning to doubt if he can ever live a normal life.
