Historia
Your body contains a symphony of tiny timepieces, synchronized to the sun and subtle signals in your environment and behavior. But modern insults like artificial light, contrived time zones, and late-night meals can wreak havoc on your internal clocks. Armed with advances in biology and technology, a circadian renaissance is reclaiming those lost rhythms. The Inner Clock explores the emerging science and its transformative applications: How could taking a walk in the morning and going to bed at the same time each night keep your body in sync?

The master class I never knew I needed
Revisado: 10-28-24
I am not a part of the science community, but I was intrigued to read this book because I know so little about circadian rhythms and was having a lot of disrupted sleep. The book turned out to be a surprising and delightful adventure through every facet of circadian rhythms: science, history, sports, architecture, public policy, healthcare, world cultures and even Lynne's personal experiences testing the limits of her own body through extreme light and dark exposures. There were so many brilliant insights and takeaways - it was like the master class I never knew I needed! I can't help but look around me now and see dozens of changes I want to make to improve my own rhythms at home and at work. Thank you, Lynne, for investing the time to make this wealth of research available in a way we can all understand!

Historia
There may be no tidy solutions or pithy answers to life’s big challenges, but Michelle Obama believes that we can all locate and lean on a set of tools to help us better navigate change and remain steady within flux. In The Light We Carry, she opens a frank and honest dialogue with listeners, considering the questions many of us wrestle with: How do we build enduring and honest relationships? How can we discover strength and community inside our differences? What tools do we use to address feelings of self-doubt or helplessness? What do we do when it all starts to feel like too much?

Storytelling at its best
Revisado: 05-29-23
Michelle Obama is both an eloquent storyteller through her precise, poignant writing and also the best reader as well! You can hear her story come alive as she reads each page expressively to adults, with as much heart and soul as one would read to a child. I love that every story has a lesson - little nuggets of wisdom passed on from a lifetime of experiences. I loved every minute and am so grateful she chose to spend her time writing this book!! We are all better for it. Thanks for continuing to shine your light on all of us, Michelle.

Brave & moving
Revisado: 12-09-22
Shoshana’s honesty about her experience, the ups and downs, and her battle with PTSD are as relevant now as ever. I heard her speak at a TX Women’s Conference and was intrigued to hear more about her story. This book was incredible and I’m so grateful she chose to share her story. You will be too.
