The story was easy to follow and the narrator did a good job. My problem is with the editing. Several times throughout the narration it would suddenly repeat itself. Several times throughout the narration it would suddenly repeat itself. Otherwise, the story was a good distraction as I wound the disturbing amount of yarn I’ve collected over the years…🥹

I chose five stars because the book touched on multiple ways to help with the arduous task of recovering from covert, narcissistic abuse. The author takes the time to explain away all of the negative self talk victims have floating around in their heads by using concrete examples of the consequences of said narcissistic abuse and why they’re not guilty or deserving of that negative self talk.
I like idea that loving yourself so intensely will help you to see red flags, thus avoid them more easily, and hopefully bring more joy in your life.
