Historia
Within the dark corners of America’s forests grow culinary treasures. Chefs pay top dollar to showcase these elusive and beguiling ingredients on their menus. Whether dressing up a filet mignon with smoky morels or shaving luxurious white truffles over pasta, the most elegant restaurants across the country now feature an abundance of wild mushrooms. Langdon Cook embeds himself in this shadowy subculture, reporting from both rural fringes and big-city eateries.

Historia
Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan’s life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school…or at home. When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she’s known is about to change. But she could never have guessed the truth--that she is the daughter of a mythical faery king and is a pawn in a deadly war.

The Iron King was a bit depressing.

Any additional comments?
The premise of this book looked so promising! Chapter after chapter of really unhappy circumstances with out a true friend to be found! Really it gets tiring when there is not one happy minute in the book, not even in the end. Just terrible beings, doing terrible things. If the beings appear friendly or kind, it is only so they can get something out of the main character. Just not a happy book.

2nd in Series is better than the First.

Any additional comments?
From page one you are drawn in. The twist and turns in this second in the series makes it a more enthralling read than the first. The first was something of Ender Wiggins meets Mad Max. This was deeper emotionally and faster paced. If you enjoyed the First of the series you will love the second.

Horrbile
Revisado: 03-15-10
This was painful to listen too, but I kept listening thinking at some point it would get interesting. I was wrong. Mundane characters with mundane lives. Just so boring!!!!!!

Historia
The world will end on Saturday. Next Saturday. Just before dinner, according to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, the world's only completely accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655. The armies of Good and Evil are amassing and everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except that a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture. And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist.

True to Pratchett's gift for sly humor and Gaiman's gift of creating a tale that makes you feel good. Funny all the way through, engaging and just plain good.

Historia
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

Stephen King Does it Again.
Revisado: 01-21-10
While the premise is enticing and keeps you listening, the fact that there are no likeable characters and the majority of the characters are horrible people, makes the book was hard to slog through. Could have been so much better!
