Narrator ruins it

I love Crais and I have read every book he has written. I need to go back to the printed books, however, as the narrators are hokey and the voices over done and distracting.

I am enjoying the story and I think the audio narrator is really good, I just hate it when a book doesn’t really wrap up much and just leaves you hanging for the next one in the series. But I will be reading to find out what happens next.

It was lovely to hear Betty White. The story was pleasant and easy to listen to if a bit predictable. It was a nice way to spend an afternoon.

Never a dull moment
Revisado: 05-26-23
I have such a difficult time reading about children who are harmed, and this book is not for the faint of heart. But I love the two main characters. I was introduced to them in the first book in the series and you find out more about them in this book.
The writing is good and the narrator is excellent. I will continue to read any book Robotham puts out.

Great beginning to a series
Revisado: 03-28-23
I am not a huge science fiction fan, but I loved the series Orphan Black and I am fascinated by the idea of clones.
This book was a mixture of science fiction, mystery, and action. It was fast-paced and fun. I really enjoyed going along for the ride.
The main mystery was wrapped up, but others remain - leaving much to still be discovered in future books in the series. I, for one, will be reading the next one.

Wow
Revisado: 01-21-23
This is one of the best, if not the best, book I have ever read that addresses sexual assault and the unfair treatment in the legal system that follows. Chanel Miller has such a clear, logical, way of presenting an argument. There were so many times she helped me understand my own thoughts and arguments better.
I was riveted to Chanel and her story. Her writing is both beautiful and powerful. Her voice should be heard and felt and listened to.

Historia
Shelby works as a dog walker in northern California, and she’s just finished up her bi-weekly trip to the park with a husky named Pluto. When she brings him back to his house, she finds his owner - Todd Burke, a well-known local businessman and founder of an organic supplements company - lying on the bathroom floor, dead. A detective arrives on the scene. As she interviews Shelby, the body is inspected by a medical examiner, and more cops search Todd’s home, it becomes clear that the victim’s life was less picture-perfect than his clean-cut persona might lead you to believe.

Revisado: 06-12-21
I can’t help it. I love Samantha Downing. Some of her books are better than others, but her writing is interesting and her characters real. This book had me from the first line. It is short and easy (impossible NOT) to listen to in one go. I enjoyed it.

Is it fantasy or reality?
Revisado: 05-01-21
I loved the fact that this story intermingled Reality and fantasy. I never quite knew what was going on in the beginning. And I liked that. I thought it was an interesting story and I really liked it. There were some parts that dragged on a bit and I would lose a little focus, but overall I really did love the story. And the narrator was fantastic.

Sad this is all for me
Revisado: 12-29-20
I am an unabashed Veronica Mars fan. I have watched the series twice, seen the movie, and read the other book. This book contains good detective work for an interesting mystery and enough of the side characters to give me a fix. I am sad the tv series is over and wasn’t a fan of the ending. I am glad this book was the last piece for me. It will be what I remember.
I miss that Kristin Bell did not narrate this, but the narrator was Ok.
No need to be a Veronica Mars fan to enjoy this book, but it is a definite plus.

Such a great narrator and a fun listen
Revisado: 05-14-20
4.5⭐️ This book was fun. It was a reimagining of history. But anyone not familiar with the time period would still enjoy it. It was clever, irreverent, silly, amusing, romantic, and all wrapped up with a little female empowerment. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this, and though the comedic nature of it might not be everyone’s cup of tea, I enjoyed being able to chuckle and smile as I listened.
This is another excellent audiobook with an outstanding narrator. Her voices and accents were PERFECT! I especially appreciated her Scottish brogue; it was spot on! What a difference a talented narrator can make for a book.
