Surprise

Honestly, I have not been a huge KG fan in the past, but I really enjoyed this book and I loved her reading it herself. It did not disappoint. Kathy just gained a new fan. I know she will be so very pleased. 😂

Historia
Britt-Marie can't stand mess. She eats dinner at precisely the right time and starts her day at six in the morning because only lunatics wake up later than that. And she is not passive-aggressive. Not in the least. It's just that sometimes people interpret her helpful suggestions as criticisms, which is certainly not her intention. But at 63, Britt-Marie has had enough. She finally walks out on her loveless 40-year marriage and finds a job in the only place she can: Borg, a small, derelict town devastated by the financial crisis.

Really enjoyed it, but....
Revisado: 03-10-18
Great story. I agree with previous reviews that it starts slow but gets better. The ending was good. We all know that endings can be tough. I might have enjoyed reading it more than listening to it because it got quite annoying hearing Britt-Marie speak of herself and say her name in third person SO many times. Also, she likes to say "Sodium of bicarbonate" WAY too much. I understand she has a passion for cleaning products but in the first half of the book I felt like I might lose my mind if I heard those words a few more times. Overall, though, it was absolutely lovely.

Historia
Meet Eleanor Oliphant: She struggles with appropriate social skills and tends to say exactly what she's thinking. Nothing is missing in her carefully timetabled life of avoiding social interactions, where weekends are punctuated by frozen pizza, vodka, and phone chats with Mummy. But everything changes when Eleanor meets Raymond, the bumbling and deeply unhygienic IT guy from her office.

Loved it!
Revisado: 03-06-18
I wasn't sure at first but I loved this book. Eleanor's quirky ways had me laughing out loud. The book made me think hard about other people and their circumstances. We never know what they are so don't be quick to judge.
