I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this as much as I did. Robert Greenberg is one of those teachers who you love to learn from and now I look forward to listening to his collection of lectures. Extremely entertaining and informative. 5 stars all around!

Inherent Bias

I have to question the historical accuracy of much of what is presented as history merely because the presentation of recent Cabinet activities concerning both the Trump and Biden administration has been proven false by 2025. I am unsure when this course was recorded, however, many of the stories claimed as historically accurate turn out to not be based on factual information now that more light has been shed on the truth. Academia, media, and science have significantly undermined themselves in the span of a decade and fabricated much of what passes as the official record. The narrator did not do herself any favors repeating debunked stories and recording it for posterity’s sake.

Since 2015, the public now has documented countless instances of mistruths, disinfo, and misinformation ranging from COVID not being from a lab (it was), Biden being cognizant (Jake Tapper now admits that wasn’t true), and a weaponized government targeting a democratically elected President who DID request the National Guard on January 6th (request denied by Pelosi and DC mayor as now proven).

These instances alone make you wonder about EVERYTHING you’ve been told and taught about history. Is it even true? Narrator needs to edit this course based on recent revelations.

Please Abandon the ‘woke’ terminology

I think we can all benefit from scientific lectures refraining from use of culturally influenced language that’s otherwise known as ‘woke speech’. Good material here but narrator couldn’t help but shoe-horn in DEI when discussing the history of paleontology. Takes away from the product.

Unfortunately, because why not, somehow the Berlin Wall’s history includes George Floyd and mass immigration. A bit ahistorical to say the least. Great lecture that ventured into low tier fodder at the end.

Great Nuggets of History

I consider myself well versed in the Civil War, but this book introduced so many events and facets I was completely unaware of. Very entertaining and informative. A must listen for anyone interested in Civil War history.

Nonsense DEI Programming

I made it to the end just to hear what passes as intellectual thinking and science. Nothing redeeming in this unless you want to understand how far we’ve come from having logical conversations about medical conditions and mental health. It’s no wonder we have a mental health crises when we ignore identifying it.
