Historia
A new sexual revolution is sweeping the country, and college students are on the front lines. Women use fresh, smart methods to fight entrenched sexism and sexual assault even as they celebrate their own sexuality as never before. Many "woke" male students are more sensitive to women's concerns than previous generations ever were, while other men perpetuate the most cruel misogyny. Amid such apparent contradictions, it's no surprise that intense confusion shrouds the topic of sex on campus.

very detailed and balanced study of a complex isue
Revisado: 10-24-18
I head an interview with the author on the radio and it piqued my interest. I like that this book touches on several themes that I feel are overlooked on most of what i read on the topic.
-controversy over what constitutes "sexual assault"
-talking to victims of false accusations.
-the role of alcohol in clouding decision making.
-inter generational divide between gen x and millennial feminists in what's considered consensual sex.
I'm so glad that someone brought up these issues.

This Kind of War is a monumental study of the conflict that began in June 1950. Successive generations of U.S. military officers have considered this book an indispensable part of their education. T. R. Fehrenbach's narrative brings to life the harrowing and bloody battles that were fought up and down the Korean Peninsula.

extreme right wing bias, but detailed.

What did you love best about This Kind of War?
its a very detailed and through account of the events leading up to and during the Korean war.
Any additional comments?
The problem with this book is that the author creatively skirts over several thorny issues.
rather than stating Syngman Rhee was a dictator, he says "there were election irregularities" but he was the legitimate leader, loved by all, etc...
rather than saying the DOD vastly underestimated the amount of force required to keep North Korea at bay (partially due to a innate sense of racial superiority to Asians) its decadent liberal societies fault for not wanting to put an adequate force in Korea or properly training or equipping task force smith.

The problem with evolutionary psychology books is that 80% of the material is going to be identical to every other book.
I think this ones just ok, had a few tid

Historia
Drawing on startling new evidence from the mapping of the genome, an explosive new account of the genetic basis of race and its role in the human story. Human evolution, the consensus view insists, ended in prehistory. Inconveniently, as Nicholas Wade argues in A Troublesome Inheritance, the consensus view cannot be right. And in fact, we know that populations have changed in the past few thousand years - to be lactose tolerant, for example, and to survive at high altitudes.

So close to being a good book...
Revisado: 03-22-15
The premiss that a type of society creates evolutionary forces that alter the genome is interesting but is totally unsupported by the data presented.
This whole book reeks of "I'm not a racist but..." Trying to use evolution to explain racial stereotypes gives evolutionary psychology a bad name.
