if you enjoy C. P.'s style of writing you will enjoy this book. the scenes with the parents are hilarious. if you're not a fan of the hopping chapters just get the original version I thought it was a pretty neat touch.i get the feeling that you could probably start on any chapter and hop around randomly until you listen to them all and receive pretty much the same experience as fallowing the instructions...

so much darker than pillars of the earth

roughly 50 (leaving 5 hours give or take of positive things) hours of the good burghers of kingsbridge getting raped murdered lied to forced into starvation or religious service falsely accused of heresy and whatever else I forgot and if you managed to not have that happen to you sorry to hear that have an agonizing death by the plague as a consolation prize .... I really almost quit listening to it after the first 24 hours please don't call this a love story it's a love letter to man's inhumanity to man... at least in pillars there were decent lengths of time where positive things happened in this book the smallest positive thing was met with the fiercest punishment ... don't think I'll be getting any more of his books

I often feel like everyone's life would be better if I wasn't here... make stupid mistakes forget things I get frustrated so easily and drag everyone down with me what a sad story maybe I should not have listened to it :(....

good book with a twinge of loss

I am happy I found this book it's like finding a lost episode of Firefly ... but it's also a reminder that it's gone and it wasn't right what happened... anywho like i said definitely good going to get the next one in the series... this kinda makes me wish they would bring back radio shows that would be cool I guess 2020 it would be a podcast or YouTube channel.... stay happy and healthy and wash your hands

Case study (draws in deep breath)

there are few things that can make any audio book better or not as good I mean this reader isn't going full on Nathan Explosion reading Shakespeare in one take but when this guy takes in air I have this image in my head like he's struggling with the book trying to keep from inhaling it jeez Louise.... The subject matter is what it is and you're most likely here because you have some kind of interest in it.. I don't feel like they pulled any punches and give the information as fact and don't try to soften it up to make it more palatable the truth is there have are and probably always will be horrific people in the world

super happy I found this series

I don't see what there's not to like about this series.i listened to the whole series on YouTube probably a year ago or something like that and I finally got around to purchasing them as I have a spectacular amount of free time due to the world temporarily coming to an end. I think about this book when I'm not listening to and and really feel like it would be an amazing open world video game with all the gates it could have a spectacular amount of dlc and be as good or better than elder scrolls... meh what do I know

this book is as good as the first one it may be a little less funny then the first book but I think the action makes up for that I think a lot of people would probably disagree with me but I get shades of Douglas Adams in the way he writes Balur is being one of my favorite characters in a long time lol one thing that goes against my grain is will not his character but how the other characters strong-armed him into making all the plans and then crap on him regardless of what happens especially with Letty he's like dude you're pretty much treat me like crap for I don't know how much time has elapsed over these two books but that entire time unless she wants laid I get it you don't love me I'm over it and she gets her feelings hurt over that which is like complete BS I really do hope that audible comes out with the third book sometime I would definitely recommend both the first and the second book to anyone that likes Adventure comedy

this is probably an awesome book like all of his other books but the narrator's collection of nose whistle lip smacking teeth clucking just ruinend this for me so I can't give an honest review of the book it's self it was that distracting for me
