Historia
Two Feathers, a young Cherokee horse-diver on loan to Glendale Park Zoo from a Wild West show, is determined to find her own way in the world. Two’s closest friend at Glendale is Hank Crawford, who loves horses almost as much as she does. He is part of a high-achieving, land-owning Black family. Neither Two nor Hank fit easily into the highly segregated society of 1920s Nashville. When disaster strikes during one of Two’s shows, strange things start to happen at the park. Vestiges of the ancient past begin to surface, apparitions appear, and then the hippo falls ill.

Great Story! Boone County, Missouri One Read!
Revisado: 06-01-23
This book is Daniel Boone Regional Library’s One Read choice for 2023. Two Feathers is a memorable heroine. Actually, all the characters are memorable. The plot moves forward with many short chapters. The ending is perfect. This would be a great bookclub choice; you’ll want to talk about it with someone. There’s lots to discuss: the history of Nashville and the history of the indigenous people in the area, the Black Business District, the Great War, what zoos were like at the time, horse diving, and how to effectively hide a body. Now, you know, you have to read it!
