Mundane
Revisado: 08-29-19
This plot has interesting elements, but desperately lacks energy and compelling character development. It felt mechanically written, paint by numbers. Well narrated, but...I simply didn't care about any character in the story, nor the plot. And this is the type of story I normally enjoy. There was no real tension, just mundane formulaic plot development. It did improve for me about 8-9 hours in, as ending unfolded, but didn't change my overall opinion.

Historia
This powerful and breathtaking novel is the story of four cadets who have become bloodbrothers. Together they will encounter the hell of hazing and the rabid, raunchy and dangerously secretive atmosphere of an arrogant and proud military institute. They will experience the violence. The passion. The rage. The friendship. The loyalty. The betrayal. Together, they will brace themselves for the brutal transition to manhood... and one will not survive.

Historia
Rosemary Harper doesn't expect much when she joins the crew of the aging Wayfarer. While the patched-up ship has seen better days, it offers her a bed, a chance to explore the far-off corners of the galaxy, and, most importantly, some distance from her past. An introspective young woman, she's never met anyone remotely like the ship's diverse crew, including Sissix, the exotic reptilian pilot; chatty engineers Kizzy and Jenks, who keep the ship running; and Ashby, their noble captain.

Nice night out chatting with the ladies
Revisado: 09-17-17
What did you like best about The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet? What did you like least?
Reading this book is sort of going out with the ladies, sitting around a table, gossiping about all the people you know, and their relationships. Not much drama or tension to speak of, but nice stories by nice ladies. I liked the writing, but found the story lacked a center or any dramatic tension to focus my attention or compel me to keep reading.

Thor, the Norse god of thunder, is worse than a blowhard and a bully - he’s ruined countless lives and killed scores of innocents. After centuries, Viking vampire Leif Helgarson is ready to get his vengeance, and he’s asked his friend Atticus O’Sullivan, the last of the Druids, to help take down this Norse nightmare.

Walking through a cast of characters
Revisado: 08-13-17
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
I found the constant character introductions to be unfocused. It was like flipping through a book of Roman and Greek mythology, and inserting characters into every chapter just for the sake of name dropping. The story suffered from lack of focus as a result. Fun, but forgettable.

Historia
To everyone who knows them, best friends Miel and Sam are as strange as they are inseparable. Roses grow out of Miel's wrist, and rumors say that she spilled out of a water tower when she was five. Sam is known for the moons he paints and hangs in the trees and for how little anyone knows about his life before he and his mother moved to town. But as odd as everyone considers Miel and Sam, even they stay away from the Bonner girls, four beautiful sisters rumored to be witches.

Like candy, sweet but hollow
Revisado: 08-04-17
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No, pretty, poetic, nice imagery, but lack of plot devices driving the story forward.
What about Raviv Ullman and Bailey Carr ’s performance did you like?
Performance was good, but could not override the lack of plot
