Historia
Ashley Perrin is fresh out of college and starting a job as a community liaison for the Third District–the city’s only sector with more alien residents than humans. Ashley’s barely found where the paper clips are kept when she’s beset with constituent complaints–from too much noise at the Annual Lupidian Celebration Parade to a trip-and-fall chicken to a very particular type of alien hornet that threatens the very city itself. And if that’s not terrifying enough, Ashley is next up at the office karaoke night.

Short, sweet little mystery with everyday sentients
Revisado: 04-25-25
Always a fan of stories with everyday heroes. Even if you have strong opinions of Nickelback, it is worth a lister. Amber Benson has a voice that defines each character and you will never confuse one for another. Entertaining and short enough for a family road trip to a park or nearby city and back again (assuming your kids don't suddenly start asking what an alien sex toy might be like).

Nobody Owens, known to his friends as Bod, is a normal boy. There are dangers and adventures in the graveyard for a boy. But if Bod leaves the graveyard, then he will come under attack from the man Jack - who has already killed Bod's family…

Unique children's story... Loved it!

Great kinda gothy story book.
Revisado: 05-19-24
Gaiman never disappoints me so I am reviewing from a biased point of view. No doubt some of the folks I grew up with in Texas may object to a book about a kid whose family is killed in the first chapter and then is raised by monsters and ghosts. Folks who probably ain't seen enough westerns with Van Cleef.
It is a great collection of short stories about the life of an orphan and the similarities to Jungle Book are thin but present. If you don't like monsters but are comfortable with an orphan being raised by wolves, bears and a panther then look up Mr. Kipling.
The actors are each top notch and if you have watched enough British shows like Cadfael or Inside No 6 then you may recognize some of the talents.
Enjoy it on a rainy day or just before bed. Maybe with a chai and a scone. Warm and comforting listen at most times.

Period pulp adventure in the Lovecraft vein
Revisado: 09-13-22
After devouring all of the Dark Adventure Radio Theater Lovecraft adaptations I was looking hungrily for some other audio drama pulp story similar to their work. Graphic Audio does some of the best fully voiced works out there and I was not disappointed with this outing. I hope they do more. As for the story, it could have been better but I enjoyed it none the less. Please give it a shot if you enjoy pulpy little adventures.

Historia
It’s the summer of 2007, and Mookie Hooper returns to Camp Cartwright with a huge secret: This is going to be her final summer at camp. So this has to be her best summer yet! Without anything to investigate, this is finally Mookie’s time to be a camper. She’s going to spend time with her buddy Carter Ruben-Rubens, finally make it into the inside of an inside joke with Fanny and her bunk, and possibly attempt a contact sport. The only thing that would put the summer over the top? Getting her first kiss. But that seems fairly unlikely since Squirrel Girl isn’t exactly anyone’s first crush.

Historia
Patricia Campbell's life has never felt smaller. Her ambitious husband is too busy to give her a goodbye kiss in the morning, her kids have their own lives, her senile mother-in-law needs constant care, and she's always a step behind on thank-you notes and her endless list of chores. The one thing she has to look forward to is her book club, a close-knit group of Charleston women united by their love of true crime and paperback fiction. At these meetings they're as likely to talk about the Manson family as they are marriage, motherhood, and neighborhood gossip.

Great Mothers Day Story
Revisado: 05-19-22
I will be honest, I am not the biggest fan of stories where the protagonist has to suffer alot. If they suffer too much then I feel like I am a participant in suffering just by observing. That said, out heroine does indeed suffer but Grady spaces it out in small but bitter doses like a medicine you hate. In the end the payoff is absolutely legendary. Do not piss off a southern mom. I actually picked this up on mother's day but my mom did not want to read it. I would think her love of true crime and thrillers would have made this a perfect match but she said she didn't like "supernatural" stories. It is light on the supernatural really and like some reviewers have noted it can be gory. Bahni is always a good reader and this is no exception. Enjoy.

An obsessed artist. Exhibitors looking for a fresh exhibit. A dash of Lovecraft and some decent chills. What more do you need? For what you pay for it is worth so much more. Maybe turn the lights down on a dark night and let the story wash over you. Enjoy.

Historia
When the history of horror comics was written, one name stood and still stands above the rest: EC Comics. With equal parts suspense, gore, camp, and revenge, the triumvirate of EC’s horror output laid the groundwork for what was to come from many of the genre’s greatest writers and directors. Now, AudioComics (a division of Pocket Universe Productions) presents EC’s The Vault of Horror, its stories adapted and presented in an audiorich fully immersive setting complete with a full cast, scoring, and soundscapes.

I really wanted to like this
Revisado: 09-14-21
I stopped at about an hour to the end. I enjoyed the comics when they got re-released and I thought the concept would work well as an audio drama. I really think it should but the production could have been better. A Foley artist with more to work with and a little transitional narration would have really improved the stories. I think some of the horror podcasts I have been listening to may have spoiled me. I am sorry because I really wanted to love it.

Like a southern soap opera with occasional horror.
Revisado: 07-15-21
This story is spread over 6 novella's. It spans roughly 50 years of a family history. It is over 30 hours long. Depending on your likes and dislikes it is totally worth it. Some crituques seem to be from folks thinking they were going into a Stephen King epic where horror is pervasive and constant. Nope. Maybe check out his book Amulet. This is really just a nice story about a Southern family weathering 50 years and just happens to have a few murderous mermaids and equally murderous ghosts. The way the story is delivered almost feels like a Mark Twain style yarn being spun by someone catching you up on the going ons of the richest family in town and as someone raised in the south it was oddly comforting but it is not for everyone. I hope that helps you decide on picking this one.

Historia
For most people, the story of their lives is just that: the accumulation of time, encounters, and actions into a cohesive whole. But for an unfortunate few, that day-to-day existence is affected - perhaps infected is a better word - by memetic incursion: where fairy tale narratives become reality, often with disastrous results.

A good fairy tale mystery with great narration
Revisado: 06-08-21
Seanan is always a good storyteller and the narrator does a great job of giving each voice its own life. For those already familiar with other fairy tale modern fantasy stories like Fables or Grimm, I recommend you to give it a shot. If only for the reformed (kinda) wicked stepsister.

Ok but could have been better
Revisado: 05-13-21
I enjoy a good mystery and especially period mysteries with a British accent. This one was just merely ok. Not bad but kinda felt like an extra long fan fiction. The concept and mystery and even the romance all felt taped together and drawn out to make for a longer story. I don't think I will follow the further adventures but I acknowledge that a first story in a series can be weak sometimes as it usually establishes characters and relationships so maybe the other stories are better.
