Historia
Set in Italy during World War II, this is the story of the incomparable, malingering bombardier Yossarian, a hero who is furious because thousands of people he has never met are trying to kill him. But his real problem is not the enemy - it is his own army, which keeps increasing the number of missions the men must fly to complete their service. Yet if Yossarian makes any attempt to excuse himself from the perilous missions he's assigned, he'll be in violation of Catch-22.

Not a Fan
Revisado: 05-10-25
I managed to listen to about half of the book. I seem to be unable to find the "rhythm" of the story although the narration is good. To me it comes across as a collection of individual mini biographies with no real connecting line other than the fact they all live at the same air base and are a collection of neurotic/PTSD individuals. As a story it's disjointed and has, to me, no specific timeline/narrative that I could follow. While it is lauded as a literary triumph, I find it far less than the reviews it is granted.
I am sorry that I bought this title.

Historia
The guru to the gurus at last shares his knowledge with the rest of us. Nobel laureate Daniel Kahneman's seminal studies in behavioral psychology, behavioral economics, and happiness studies have influenced numerous other authors, including Steven Pinker and Malcolm Gladwell. In Thinking, Fast and Slow, Kahneman at last offers his own, first book for the general public. It is a lucid and enlightening summary of his life's work. It will change the way you think about thinking. Two systems drive the way we think and make choices, Kahneman explains....

This more directed towards scholars than laymen. I found it uninformative & overall not interesting let alone useful to me.

Historia
I'd like to tell you about the strangest secret in the world. Not long ago, Albert Schweitzer, the great Dr. and Nobel Prize winner was being interviewed in London and a reporter asked him, "Doctor, what's wrong with men today?" The great doctor was silent a moment, and then he said, "Men simply don't think!" And it's about this that I want to talk with you. We live today in a golden age. This is an era that man has looked forward, dreamed of, and worked toward for thousands of years. But we take it for granted.

Historia
In a narrative that moves from Washington's headquarters on the Hudson River, to the wooded hillside in North Carolina where Nathanael Greene fought Lord Cornwallis to a vicious draw, to Lafayette's brilliant series of maneuvers across Tidewater Virginia, author Nathaniel Philbrick details the epic and suspenseful year through to its triumphant conclusion. A riveting and wide-ranging story, full of dramatic, unexpected turns, In the Hurricane's Eye reveals that the fate of the American Revolution depended, in the end, on Washington and the sea.

Yes, you can become rich. No, it's not easy, but it's not as difficult as many people imagine - and it's definitely not impossible, as many cynics would have us believe.
