A few errors but we'll worth the money overall

It was a good enough read though the narrator takes a bit getting used to. There is also an error in the telling of the stories as Ozma of Oz is told after Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz so you'll need to skip forward and then back again. There are a few misreads which weren't edited out but that didn't really bother me as it added to the authenticity.

Overall when you consider you got 22 stories and about 90 hours of story telling for just one credit its a pretty awesome deal!

Excellent listening!

I really enjoyed listening to this podcast and learnt a great deal about life in Victorian times. I note that some listeners complained about the music but I think it helps transport the listener to the time in question and I feel the stories would not have been as successful without it.

By far THE best book I've listened to!

If I had to recommend only one book in the regency genre, this would be it!

This book never gets old! This must be the third or fourth time I've listened to it. What makes this book such a hit is the perfect mix of a great story, hilarious witticisms and outstanding narration which seems to bring every character to life and give the story colour and vibrance. It also includes some of the most steamiest sex scenes I have ever encountered in a book (just quietly) so be prepared!

The most infuriating book!

The only reason I listened to the end was a hope that there was actually a happy ending. At least the villain did get his comeuppance in the end and the love pair finally get together, but the heroine had gone through so much and been hurt by so many people (her own mother for pitty's sake!) and the author chose to just brush over it all and basically forgive everyone for any wrong doing! Such an anti climax if ever there was one! This book had the most thick headed, niave heroine with seemingly no back bone whatsoever, it was simply annoying beyond belief! Basically a doormat to her greedy relatives, I lost count of the number of times I rolled my eyes at her meekness and stupidity. I also have a suspicion that the real theme of this book was to promote God and paint him as the saviour. Audible should really create a better new category and call it "religious romance". If this was meant to endear people to God, this book well and truly failed to hit the mark!

Change the narrator!

This book could've been so much more enjoyable with a different narrator. I tried hard not to let it spoil the story but honestly her monotone voice was too much to bear! She also had this habit of saying some things really fast and others excruciatingly slow, for no apparent reason!

It's a real shame as the story itself was quite good.

Good story line

I liked this series and this book. It had an interesting plot as did all the others. I appreciated the humour speckled throughout this book too. What did annoy my a little bit was the constant boob grabbing by the hero! It's just so unrealistic. If my husband did that to me everytime he saw me I'd smack him!

Captivating story despite annoying heroine

The storyline was very interesting and I wanted to keep listening. Perhaps it was because the heroine was so annoyingly stubborn and naiive that I wanted to keep listening to find out what silly things she did next. But overall I enjoyed it.
