The plot is very interesting, has lots of depth, and speeds along to a satisfying conclusion. A+++. You can't beat John Grisham for legal thrillers. The narrator, Michael Beck, is fantantastic! He nailed every character's accent and cadence so that the listener is never confused about who is speaking. He has narrated many books for Grisham. I highly recommend this in audio format.

Emotional story with flat monotone narration

This is the true story of PhD mathmatician and mother Julie, her unstable unfaithful and alcoholic spouse, and daughter Genoa during the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. It packs an emotional punch you wont soon forget.
For audible listeners however, you may not enjoy the authors flat, monotone, unemotional voice as she reads her manuscript aloud. Hearing her describe raw painful and personal experiences in a flat voice without changes in pitch, inflection or volume takes away from the experience for the reader. Had a vocal actor performed the manuscript, I believe the listener would have been wrapped up in the drama of Julie's world. Do yourself a favor and buy a printed copy, for this is a story not to be missed.

A great action filled character-driven novel!

this novel has a lot of characters and is a bit tricky to keep track of everyone at first but each character is fascinating and the story moves along at a great clip! This is the sequel to Stillhouse Lake, and the author plans on releasing the third novel spring of 2019. I'm looking forward to it!

Great but abrupt ending!

I was really enjoying this audiobook and then suddenly it ended unsatisfactorily to my mind because I felt that the storyline was not wrapped up at the end. I went back again to see if maybe something glitched on my phone and found it had not, the book just ended kind of suddenly. I wanted another chapter! I really enjoyed the story though very much!
