Historia
Once, the Galaspar System suffered under the cruel regime of the Order. Billions of people toiled endlessly to enrich their masters, enduring short lives of poverty, squalor and fear. But Galaspar’s sins did not go unnoticed by the Imperium, and so Death itself sentenced the Order to annihilation. Mortarion, newly uplifted to commander of the Death Guard, descended upon the world, and with him came a slaughter of untold proportions. The sheer brutality of Mortarion’s campaign left the Imperium appalled.

Death Guard flavored "bolter p*rn"
Revisado: 11-17-22
Going in, I was expecting a sort of deeper character driven story for Morty, similar to Konrad Kurze's Night Haunter book. But alas, this book is about 4 hours of space marines doing battle with humans. A few stand out moments, but nothing spectacular. If you like the DG, like I do, go for it. Keeble was a great narrator as always.

Historia
Edith Widder’s childhood dream of becoming a marine biologist was almost derailed in college, when complications from a surgery gone wrong caused temporary blindness. A new reality of shifting shadows drew her fascination to the power of light - as well as the importance of optimism. As her vision cleared, Widder found the intersection of her two passions in oceanic bioluminescence, a little-explored scientific field within Earth’s last great unknown frontier: the deep ocean.

From her life changing medical situation to deep sea submarine exploration, this is a memoir of the incredible adventures and life of marine biologist Edith Widder. There is not a dull moment to be had!

Historia
When the Colonial Marines set out after their deadliest prey, the Xenomorphs, it's what Corporal Hicks calls a bug hunt - kill or be killed. Here are fifteen all-new stories of such "close encounters", written by many of today's most extraordinary authors. Set during the events of all four Alien films, sending the Marines to alien worlds, to derelict space settlements, and into the nests of the universe's most dangerous monsters, these adventures are guaranteed to send the blood racing - one way or another.

If you're more of a fan of the pure and simple action aspect of ALIENS, then I suppose I can suggest picking this one up. There are. a few stories that night scratch that itch for Bug vs. marines action. But fans of the horror aspect of ALIEN. like myself, will surely find this lacking.

Historia
With the failure of Hadley's Hope, Weyland-Yutani has suffered a devastating setback - the loss of the Aliens they aggressively sought to exploit. Yet there's a reason the Company has risen to the top of the food chain. True to form, they have a redundancy already in place: the facility known as "The Cold Forge". Remote station RB-232 has become their greatest asset in weaponizing the Xenomorphs. However, when Dorian Sudler is sent to RB-232 to assess their progress, he discovers that there's a spy aboard - someone who doesn't necessarily act in the company's best interests.

Top tier ALIEN content
Revisado: 07-05-22
A story of corporate greed and spiraling insanity, using ALIEN as the catalyst.
The book's protagonist, Blue, is, in my opinion, one of the most interesting main characters from this long line of ALIEN(S) novels. Her predicament of being severely medically impaired adds am interesting level of urgency to her motives and definitely made me want to root for her to be victorious the entire time.
On the opposite end, the antagonist, Dorian, is someone you love to hate. Everything about him is awful, and it is an ever increasing want to see him finally get the comeuppance he deserves.
Fantastic narration as well. Simple, but effective.

Historia
On Earth, political tensions boil over between the United Americas, Union of Progressive Peoples, and Three World Empire. Conflict spreads to the outer fringes, and the UK colony of New Albion breaks with the Three World empire. This could lead to a Colony War. Trapped in the middle are journalist Cher Hunt, scientist Chad McLaren, and the synthetic Davis. Cher, seeking to discover who caused the death of her sister, Shy Hunt, uncovers a far bigger story. McLaren’s mission, fought alongside his wife, is to stop the militarization of the deadliest weapon of all—the Xenomorph.

ALIEN was always "woke".
Revisado: 06-17-22
Ignore the people complaining that this Alien entry is too "woke", they clearly missed 1) the point and messages of the original two films, and 2) lack any sort of literary critical thinking to properly critique media in any way aside from spewing generic derogatory buzzwords.
As for my thoughts; I'd actually only give it like a 3 or 4, but I wanted this to be seen easier haha! Either way, I think telling stories about the people and colonies within the Alien universe is far more interesting than a 10 hour gun fight would ever be. Alien is allowed to tell more than one story, and I'm enjoying what we have been getting.

New and familiar characters abound, voiced by a bright mix of performers, including Kat Dennings, Regé-Jean Page, Emma Corrin, Michael Sheen, Kristen Schaal, Brian Cox, John Lithgow, Jeffrey Wright, and so many more, including fan-favorite narrators Simon Vance and Ray Porter.

The story of stories, just as great as the first
Revisado: 11-10-21
Long story short, if you liked the first one, you will most definitely enjoy the second act as well. Suburb writing, voice acting, sound design, and so on.
Also, don't listen to the folks claiming this to be filled with "woke virtue signaling", they're just bigots who get offended over the mere mention of a trans person/ character. News flash, The Sandman comics were always "woke" and filled with representation and diversity. Easily the most casually queer stories I've come across.

A fun and eerie experience
Revisado: 10-29-21
I have read the original Call of Cthulhu, however H.P. Lovecraft's style of writing is simply too difficult for me to follow and enjoy most of his stories. These kinds of audio dramas are wonderful adaptations, and a lot easier to digest. This one was my first, and it's quality makes me excited to try out more down the line. Definitely reccomend for Lovecraft fans new and old, or horror fans in general.

Excellent voice acting, character writing, story and plots, sound design and music effects, and overall production quality. One of if not the best audio drama I've ever experienced. I sometimes forgot this is supposed to belong to the same universe as DC comics legends Batman and Superman.

A decent prequel, also better than Alliances
Revisado: 07-30-21
As a stand alone story for Thrawn and his actions before joining the Empire and becoming Grand Admirial, this book was pretty good. Not amazing, nothing jaw dropping, and unfortunately not a whole lot we haven't seen Thrawn do already before. I personally wish this first book was more about Thrawn growing up, perfecting his love of art and tactics, his time at the Chiss naval academy, and all around more about Chiss culture in general. We get to see some of that Chiss culture scattered about, but it doesn't feel fully flushed out just yet. I would have liked to see more flashback/ memories moments going back to Thrawn's early years, as I genuinely want to know how he was as a child.
As for the plot itself, it has it's ups and downs. Unfortunately the antagonist was simply not interesting. Put him in any other Star Wars setting and nothing changes. At first he seemed like a competent threat to match Thrawn's own prowess, but then any build up or backstory for him ceased and he became a generic angry guy who couldn't make a decision.
Thrawn on the other hand was great as always. But I feel like that was more a detriment than anything. Since there is not a lot of depth into his growing up or time in the academy, he is kind of just already good at anything he does/ already knows tactics. I wanted to know specifically how he got so good at it in the first place and it was just never delivered, unfortunately.
I'll definitely be going on to the next two books at some point, hopefully they will be good.

The year is A.D. 922. A refined Arab courtier, representative of the powerful Caliph of Baghdad, encounters a party of Viking warriors who are journeying to the barbaric North. He is appalled by their Viking customs - the wanton sexuality of their pale, angular women, their disregard for cleanliness...their cold-blooded human sacrifices. But it is not until they reach the depths of the Northland that the courtier learns the horrifying and inescapable truth.

Revisado: 07-14-21
Like some other reviews have mentioned, it might just be the best option to go into this book completely blind. The sudden realization of finding out what exactly I was listening to and whether or not it is true or not was thrilling. This is my third MC book, after Jurassic Park and The Lost World, and it did not disappoint.
