Historia
Detective Sam Helsdown hasn’t seen his daughter Zoe in two years and he’s excited and more than a little nervous to be at the airport picking her up for a visit. She’s 10 years old and has flown on her own for the first time. Flight BA631 from Athens has already landed and soon a trickle of people begins entering Arrivals. Among them is a little girl who runs towards him, head down, and throws herself into his arms saying ‘Daddy!’. But then he looks at her properly. This is not Zoe. This is not his daughter.

Awful
Revisado: 09-20-23
By any standard, this is an awful book in my opinion .The plot is weak. The characters are shallow. The writing is very cliche and the only good thing I can think off to say about this book is that the narrator is ok. If this is the quality of the original audible stuff that is provided free as incentives for subscribers, well it’s not working.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Witty and atmospheric. Gerard Doyle is the perfect narrator for Sean Duffy.
I hope Mckinty will write more about detective. Sean Duffy…and soon :)

Revisado: 11-24-17
I could not finish this book. It is so bad that after 3 and half hours I could not stand the long a collection of long winded unoriginal remminising and stilted dialogue a minute longer.
The narrator is good and that is the only positive thing I can think of about this audiobook.

Historia
The international number one best seller returns with his most captivating and suspenseful novel yet - perfect for fans of Stieg Larsson and Jo Nesbo. In a Copenhagen park, the body of an elderly woman is discovered. Though the case bears a striking resemblance to another unsolved homicide from over a decade ago, the police cannot find any connection between the two victims. Across town a group of young women are being hunted down. The attacks seem random, but could these acts of violence be related?

Historia
Detective Inspector Logan McRae is finally getting back on his feet after the events of the last few years. Putting things behind him. Getting better.… But it was never going to last. A body turns up on the outskirts of Aberdeen: burned from the neck up, hands chained behind the back. More murders follow - all gruesome, and with only one obvious connection. The similarities between the real-life killings and the plot of a best-selling novel about witchcraft seem more than coincidental, but the more Logan digs the more dangerous and blurred the line between fact and fiction becomes.

Revisado: 07-14-13
Would you listen to Close to the Bone again? Why?
Too much dialogue that respects not have any other purpose than to be funny, where cops whining over savings or officers, as their only purpose seems to be to bring the jokes.
McBride is actually good at writing such conversations. But when this continues indefinitely but will be wearing this. Ceases to function as comic relief, and gets a bit silly
What about Steve Worsley’s performance did you like?
5 stars, and more if was possible
Any additional comments?
The plot, the basic idea had all that a book of this genre needs. A bit more editing and it would have been a great book, not just OK

I am a fan of Deon Meyer. This book was therefore a big turn of, fellt like Meyer's muse must heve been on vacation when he wrote this one.
The characters i like so much were there but the story was dreadfully boring and uninteresting, and the diolougs, well cliche upon cliche.
