Historia
I died and was accidentally reborn as an [angelic monstrosity]. So now I'm building a holy dungeon-tower that is tall enough to reach the gods...so that I can complain about it! But the humans think that I am trying to destroy the world.

Inconsistent MC
Revisado: 05-24-24
I really tried...but the MC is so unlikable and inconsistent and after several hours it haven't gotten any better.
Much like the book, this review will be a little all over the place..
MC is totally uninterested in the dungeon, it leave all design choices to it's summoned workers.
The instructions are always like a frantic "Build higher!" or "Build this type of room and make it look nice" then they lose interest and focus on something else.
They even leave what monsters to populate the dungeon to the summoned helpers.
It doesn't help that the MC goes from single minded bird brain one moment, to someone that plans ahead for the future the next moment... then back to bird brain that only wants to build higher quick. The MC is very adamant on building high very fast, and there is even an self imposed time limit. Yet, they build for the long, slow and safe growth.. only for suddenly switch to murder hobo mode because they must grow super fast... and then jump to lets take it slow and safe mode the next moment.
This is something that annoys me to no end.. They build up the idea that they don't like killing.. and yet murder hobo mode every now and then. They even rationalise about it.. yeah, just butcher thousands of people just to have another chance with a loved one. Is that supposed to make me sympathize with the MC? It just makes them seem evil and selfish.
The speech is also all over the place, jumping between baby talk to normal adult speech. It's very jarring.
Now.. these type of books have stats in them and they can get repetitive. The normal stat stuff isn't that bad, But for some bloody reason I have to listen to how much each monster cost (F-Rank 1 point, E-Rank 2 points etc etc) over and over again.
Every time a room is built, and they just spit the rooms out because the MC's need to build high fast.
There is literally moments where they go "you built room nr 5" then it rabbles all the costs for monster spawns...and then follow it with "you built room nr 6" then rabbles all the cost AGAIN.
WE LEARNT WHAT THEY COST AFTER THE 2nd TIME! if the cost change, then it's okay to bring it up again. You could probably trim an hour of the book if that stuff got cut.
Worth mentioning how the MC went from being chocked and devastated that some of their helpers died and when they summoned new ones, they weren't the same helpers. Then in the next sentence the mentality is "Them dying was good actually" and then not care at all about the ones that died anymore.
There is probably more complaints to leave.. but this will have to do for now.

Historia
Warren’s quest to become a World Boss is finally over, and destruction is left in its wake. The Death Game has finally come. Uncountable players are trapped in Fate and Freedom Online, and those who die are lost in the sensory deprivation hell of the death void. It’s up to Warren and his allies, both player and monster alike, to find a way out of the game as soon as possible. That’s easier said than done, though, as many players seem against Warren helping them at all.

Okay story hampered by the MC
Revisado: 01-25-24
It will be a bit rambly since I'm tired and want to go to bed. But I just need to get this off my mind before that.
Decent enough story/idea with a vr "deathgame" and we a good mix of characters.. but the MC just made me facepalm.
He is takes the MC is dense trope to new levels and he is so insecure and meek it's painful.
This will be a bit of spoiler.. so skip it if you don't want spoilers.
So.. deathgame. Players are stuck in the game and can't logout and as added tension, they can't respawn. Not to mention the number of times we get reminded that people can die IRL if they can't logout.
So far so good.
But the MC end up as a Mob/Player hybrid.. so he can respawn. That kinda lowers the stakes a bit, That's not the end of the world, BUT...
He finds a way to make other respawn. They even talk about how he did it, and have proof that it works in the person that got a respawn.
Despite that, NO ONE thinks about abusing the infinite respawn... even though this is a life and death situation.
"Hey, we must defeat this boss or we risk death IRL,, LET'S NOT USE THE INFINTE RESPAWN to defeat him!"
My other issues with the MC.
Any antagonist can defeat the MC by simply blaming him for the bad things that happen. He instantly breaks down in self doubt.
Finds a way to respawn players.. instead of using it to save people. He get worried people will get mad that he didn't revive dead players and tries to avoid them...
He wants to refuse getting upgraded gear for the final fight, even though it is a life and death situation.
I could ramble on forever.. but I need sleep.
