STOP. You should not have touched this flyer with your bare hands. NO, don't put it down. It's too late. They're watching you. My name is David Wong. My best friend is John. Those names are fake. You might want to change yours. You may not want to know about the things you'll read on these pages, about the sauce, about Korrok, about the invasion, and the future. But it's too late. You touched the book. You're in the game. You're under the eye. The only defense is knowledge. You need to read this book, to the end. Even the part with the bratwurst. Why?

This book will likely challenge what you think makes people the top in their field. For the most part it is what you expect lots of hard work. The thing people miss has more to do with what people assume is the dark side of mastery and for me this book clarified some of that and spelled out more of the good that comes from such pursuits.

My wife and I enjoyed this together
Revisado: 07-01-17
This was a very inspirational story for my wife and I to listen to especially since we are in our second almost third year of marriage. Many of the thing we see in their story are similar to our own. We both have that entrepreneurial spirit and love the Lord. We can only hope to do half as well as Chip & Jo!

I hate to call out the performer here but he started of a little bland and it was a tad bit hard to follow.
However I really feel like he picked up his game toward the end of the book and made the listening experience better.

Historia
In this book, we travel inside Emily's and Paul's brains as they attempt to sort the vast quantities of information they're presented with, figure out how to prioritize it, organize it, and act on it. Fortunately for Emily and Paul, they're in good hands: David Rock knows how the brain works - and more specifically, how it works in a work setting. Rock shows how it's possible for Emily and Paul, and thus the listener, not only to survive in today's overwhelming work environment but succeed in it - and still feel energized and accomplished at the end of the day.

Couldn't even get a good start
Revisado: 10-09-13
Would you try another book from David Rock and/or Bob Walter?
Not really thinking I will.
What was most disappointing about David Rock’s story?
The premise is disappointing, cliched, and over-used in daily life. If I wanted to hear that I have a finite amount of decision making power, and need to stop making so many decisions and thinking so much... I wouldn't grab a book for that. I didn't hear any workable solutions with regard to external forces like diet, exercise, or even brain workouts in the first hour so I gave up.
Would you be willing to try another one of Bob Walter’s performances?
The reading is clear if not a little slow. He speaks clearly enough that I can turn the speed setting all the way up and still understand everything. So likely I will try another of his readings.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Your Brain at Work?
The intro.... I didn't even really get past it.
