Historia
For more than a century, some of the world’s most important thinkers and leaders—men like Arthur Conan Doyle and William Butler Yeats—gathered once a month and discussed the supernatural at The Ghost Club in London. In the early 1900s the club's chairman was Harry Price, the world’s most well-known ghost hunter. He and other members, like Harry Houdini, sought to debunk the charlatans who preyed on vulnerable people with fake seances, tarot readings, and spiritual encounters.

Brilliant, funny, scary, thoughtful and rollicking times. Valkyrie Cain makes it even more intriguing. I recommend for road trips, especially with tween & up. Big enough for adults and kids. Thank you Derek! Now where are the rest?

Four months have passed since the shadow stone fell into Kell's possession. Four months since his path crossed with Delilah Bard. Four months since Rhy was wounded and the Dane twins fell, and the stone was cast with Holland's dying body through the rift, and into Black London. In many ways, things have almost returned to normal, though Rhy is more sober, and Kell is now plagued by his guilt.

Narrators were bad and it’s only backstory for book 3.
Revisado: 12-23-18
Female didn’t do her accent for Lila consistently. And make made Rye out to be a smug jerk. Book 1’s narrator was a bit slow but you couldn’t recognize the characters from book 1 to 2. And then as I just want to make it to the end to find out what happens you learn it is all just a set up for book 3. All just back story and set up. I may just pick up the book and skim to find out the ending. I can’t listen to another by these 2.

She goes into such amazing depth in places and others left me yelling “wait”
Tell me more! What happened to Jocko? Did she give her father the money? Did she have an affair with the Director of Norma Rae? Her marriage to Sam’s father was way too short. What happened? And Steve, what happened to him? Her story is so personal and accessible. And her writing is excellent. So much better to listen to her tell it on Audible. Book 2? Yes, please!

Is Benjamin Black ok?
Revisado: 11-16-17
This latest installation reminded me of when a new author takes over an established ones work. Regurgitating the back story is half the novel. And the new parts introduced are flimsy and with little consequence. Wait for the next book and all you would have missed is what happened to Jimmy Minor.

Don't waste 3 hours or the credit on this one. Especially if you want to like her.
Revisado: 09-19-17
I had heard good things about this book and the story of the burnt toast. That was the only take away point. She is self congratulatory throughout and clearly thinks herself a superlative mother and person. It gets old fast. Except for being cautious with money (she still goes to garage sales!) she has no grasp of motherhood today.
I love that she repeatedly talks of never having plastic surgery which by 2017 she clearly has had work done. She talks of the pressures to be physically perfect and says she has never been on a diet and always been thin.
She talks of her ambitions yet she just "fell into acting" without any study of the craft. And she writes about not winning an Emmy and being happy for her castmate yet repeatedly doesn't mention her name.
This was only 3 hours and I only finished it to have more things to laugh about. I would say she is clearly not very bright but she conned someone out of cash to write this and many more people like me to read or listen. Save yourself!

Historia
Sam and Clementine have a wonderful, albeit, busy life: they have two little girls, Sam has just started a new dream job, and Clementine, a cellist, is busy preparing for the audition of a lifetime. If there’s anything they can count on, it’s each other. Clementine and Erika are each other’s oldest friends. A single look between them can convey an entire conversation. But theirs is a complicated relationship, so when Erika mentions a last minute invitation to a barbecue with her neighbors, Tiffany and Vid, Clementine and Sam don’t hesitate.

Love the author and the narrator - this was too slow
Revisado: 07-04-17
If I had read this in book form I would have skipped ahead. There was too much back and forth and i just wanted the answer that was too slowly doled out. This narrator is usually a favorite however in this one she was so slowly paced I was frustrated. Due to the pace, I also felt let down with the payoff.
That said I have listened to other books with both of them and loved them. I will again. This one I just left frustrated.
