Historia
When Lynsi Snyder’s grandparents founded In-N-Out Burger in 1948, they built it with a passion for quality and service that Lynsi embraced at a young age. After starting as a store associate at age seventeen, she then worked in other departments, gaining firsthand experience with almost every aspect of the family business until she became president in 2010. She has led the company through explosive growth—today, there are three-hundred-ninety-two stores and counting—and is deeply committed to the well-being of the In-N-Out Burger family.

The iconic story of the iconic, In-N-Out Burger
Revisado: 01-04-24
This book allowed me to take an over 60-year-old stroll through memory lane and In-N-Out. I grew up a mile and a half from store number one in Baldwin Park.
The history was incredibly interesting and I commend the brutal honesty of the family history.
I loved hearing all of the fun facts, and gained an even higher respect for the company.

Historia
Three powerful men converge on the banks of the Red Cedar River in the early 1900s in southern Minnesota—George Albert Hormel, founder of what will become the $10 billion food conglomerate Hormel Foods; Alpha LaRue Eberhart, the author's paternal grandfather and Hormel's executive vice president and corporate secretary; and Ransome Josiah Thomson, Hormel's comptroller. Over ten years, Thomson will embezzle $1.2 million from the company's coffers, nearly bringing the company to its knees.

The captivating story with a subpar performance!
Revisado: 11-28-23
Having spent my career in grocery, I was captivated by the story of George Hormel and the company’s beginnings. I enjoyed the history of the various generations of people and how they fared in their lives. Is it related back to the principal officers of the company.
The downside was the narrators performance. This is a slippery slope, so please forgive me if I’ve offended anybody. I don’t know if it was poor recording, equipment, or if the narrator had a speech impediment, and/or a lisp. That stated the story, was at times, very difficult to listen to as the lisp was extremely irritating.

Historia
Bloomsbury presents The Broken Road by Peggy Wallace Kennedy with Justice H. Mark Kennedy, read by Caitlin Thorburn. From the daughter of one of America’s most virulent segregationists, a memoir that reckons with her father George Wallace’s legacy of hate - and illuminates her journey towards redemption.

An incredible story butchered by a horrible narration
Revisado: 01-09-20
Peggy Sue Wallace Kennedy writes a story that is both honorable and remarkable. Her ability to understand the politics of her father and mother and her willingness and fortitude to right those wrongs with past leaders of the civil rights movement is an incredible journey.
With regard to this Audiobook, this wonderful story is butchered with the worst narration I have heard in over 250 Audible titles. Caitlin Thorburn butchers the English language to a point where simple words and phrases need to be replayed for listener understanding.
Although I highly recommend this book the listener must truly be an active listener so that the narration does not ruin the beautiful story told within.

Historia
What went wrong in the O.J. Simpson double-murder trial? Former prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi dares to lay bare the bungling he perceived in the case. Incriminating evidence was never presented and lapses in strategy left prosecutors Marcia Clark and Christopher Darden at a disadvantage. These are just a few of the fatal errors that led to a victory for the defense.

Brutally Candid
Revisado: 05-16-19
This candid and brutally honest analysis of the Simpson murder case gives the listener cause to truly think. Regardless of where you stood during the trial, Vincent Bugliosi weaves a perfect stitch through the holes of both the prosecution and defense teams.
I only wish that Gil Garcetti would have asked a winner’s opinion rather than running for Mayor (I say this because if he was fully vested in winning this case, he would have).
BTW, Simpson was GUILTY!

Historia
On April 20, 1999, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold walked into Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. Over the course of minutes, they would kill 12 students and a teacher and wound 24 others before taking their own lives. For the last 16 years, Sue Klebold, Dylan's mother, has lived with the indescribable grief and shame of that day. How could her child, the promising young man she had loved and raised, be responsible for such horror? And how, as his mother, had she not known something was wrong?

Revealing Story
Revisado: 05-05-18
I had to really listen and, at times, play back a sentence or two. I listened with an open mind but it was somewhat difficult because of the circumstances.
Sue Klebold loves her son yet acknowledges the horrific pain that he caused. I think that she tends to want to justify that Dillon was subservient to Eric Harris. In my opinion, Dillion was just as evil.
This is a very good book and it certainly opened my eyes to brain health issues and the parents of murder-suicide children.
I feel for Sue Klebold and can hear her pain. I give her much credit for for candid story. She takes the high road while the Harris’ continue to hunker down and deny that Columbine ever happened.

Historia
A major new biography of the Civil War general and American president, by the author of the New York Times bestseller A. Lincoln. The dramatic story of one of America's greatest and most misunderstood military leaders and presidents, this is a major new interpretation of Ulysses S. Grant. Based on seven years of research with primary documents, some of them never tapped before, this is destined to become the Grant biography of our times.

An incredibly updated view of the life of General Grant
Revisado: 06-21-17
American Ulysses is an updated version of the many biographies dedicated to the life and times of general and President Grant. This book captures a very fair and updated understanding of what Ulysses S Grant accomplished for the African-American and Native American people of the United States. I highly recommend this volume to anyone who has yet to experience this simple soldier's story.

Historia
Legendary Dodgers Maury Wills, Sandy Koufax, Wes Parker, Jeff Torborg, Dick Tracewski, and Tommy Davis encapsulated 1960s America: white and black, Jewish and Christian, wealthy and working class, pro-Vietnam and anti-war, golden boy and seasoned veteran. The Last Innocents is a thoughtful, technicolor portrait of these seven players - friends, mentors, confidants, rivals, and allies - and their storied team that offers an intriguing look at a sport and a nation in transition.

Reliving my youth
Revisado: 05-24-17
I was a tall kid that just started playing Little League. I could catch a ball so my coach placed me at first base. I watched Wes Parker play every chance I got. TV, listened to Vin Scully on my transistor and followed the team. This book brought those precious memories flooding back. Koufax, Drysdale, Wills, Toborg and so many others. Historic events and the Los Angeles Dodgers, what could be better?

Historia
It was never supposed to be this close. And of course she was supposed to win. How Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 election to Donald Trump is the tragic story of a sure thing gone off the rails. For every Comey revelation or hindsight acknowledgment about the electorate, no explanation of defeat can begin with anything other than the core problem of Hillary's campaign - the candidate herself.

Historia
Goodwin describes the broken friendship between Teddy Roosevelt and his chosen successor, William Howard Taft. With the help of the "muckraking" press, Roosevelt had wielded the Bully Pulpit to challenge and triumph over abusive monopolies, political bosses, and corrupting money brokers. Roosevelt led a revolution that he bequeathed to Taft only to see it compromised as Taft surrendered to money men and big business. The rupture led Roosevelt to run against Taft for president, an ultimately futile race that gave power away to the Democrats.
