Historia
There are whispers about what lurks in Witch Knell—the forest where sinners go to die. The villagers call it The Eating Woods because what's taken is never given back. Only those who've lost their senses would dare to go near it. Or the banished. Maevyth Bronwick knows better than to breach the misty labyrinth of trees, but a tragic turn of events compels her beyond the archway of bones to a boundary no mortal has crossed before. One that cloaks a dark and fantastical world that's as dangerous as it is alluring. It's there that he dwells, the cursed lord of Eidolon.

Holy Mother of Slow Burn! This book… THIS FREAKING BOOK! I AM OBSESSED
Revisado: 04-11-25
I don’t even know where to start my review…
I’ll start with Maevyth. I adored her. I loved her curiosity. I loved her loyalty to those she cared about. She’s stubborn af and I was here for it. Truly, I loved her!
Zevander… I might be obsessed with him. He is brooding, sarcastic, and hates the fact that he is attracted to Maevyth. His past broke my heart and I just wanted to hug him. He is definitely a character with a lot of layers and I cannot wait to see more of them in the next book.
I loved the banter and tension between Maevyth and Zevander. I loved Maevyth and Rykaia's friendship, especially when Rykaia played matchmaker (IYKYK).
It’s a slow burn (no, seriously, it’s a slowwwww burn), but I was invested in the plot. Many times I was like “what the fck is happening”, which made me even more intrigued. I loved the witchy vibes. I think Keri Lake did an amazing job with the world-building. I still have many questions and theories, but I’m excited to see what Book 2 will bring.
AUDIOBOOK:
It was pure PERFECTION! The narrators, the effects of the voices in a specific scene, just everything was done perfectly. Its a duet narration which is even better. I think it was easy to follow the complexities of this world with only the audiobook. I truly recommend it.

Larkyra Bassette may be the youngest of the Mousai, but when she sings her voice has the power to slay monsters. I absolutely adored this book!
Revisado: 03-08-25
I went in blind and I have no regrets. I was hooked since the very beginning. I wanted to know what will happen next and it was hard to put the book down. I absolutely love Darius. He was such a gentleman and there were times I was like “PLEASE STOP BEING A GENTLEMAN”. As for Lakyra… I wanted to hug her. She’s so pure, innocent, stubborn, funny… I seriously loved her.
I really liked the whole concept of the story and I feel like it was very unique. This is a slow burn (no, seriously, it is SLOW), but I loved it. The romance is still there, but it made sense why the author would make it as slow as she did, especially considering who Lakyra is.
I loved the sister dynamics and banter. I got emotional. I love their father. Seriously, this book was amazing and it deserves more hype!
As for the narration, it was done perfectly. I think both narrators did an amazing job in portraying the feelings of the characters, keeping me in my toes with the suspense. Highly recommend.

I loved that we got to know more about Niya, especially her inner thoughts. I won’t lie, she broke my heart and I was not expecting for her to struggle so much. I wanted to hug her. I love how much she loves her family and how she would do just about anything for them.
As for Alos… I wanted to hit him and hug him. I love that we got to see a side of him that people would consider as vulnerable. Even if I didn’t agreed with everything he did, I also kinda understood where he was coming from.
I liked the adventure and dynamic of the story. I was hooked since the very beginning and it was hard to put down.
Narration and performance was done beautifully. Both narrators captured me even more into the story.

Historia
It was full dark when I snuck out of the castle to meet you. You wore those ripped black jeans and your new friend’s boots, with sleet from the forest still in the grooves. You moved awkwardly in your new clothes because you were still creating yourself, like one of your drawings. We drank vanilla cola from glass bottles and listened to a song about how fast the night changes over and over.

This book was a rollercoaster in the feels. I swooned, I gushed, I got sad, I was angry, and I loved every second of it. Being able to experience all of this made me love the story even more. I was able to get lost in this world and characters for a little while every day, and it was honestly the best medicine I could ask for during such a hectic life.
The audiobook was great! I think the narrators did and overall great job.

Historia
After watching my mother succumb to a mysterious illness, I promised myself two things. I'd find the cure for what ravaged her and leave the godforsaken city where she abandoned me. Four years later, I received an acceptance letter from Dracadia University, one of the oldest most prestigious schools in the country. Nestled on a secluded island off the coast of Maine, it's rumored to be haunted by the souls of the mental patients exiled there centuries before, those whose bones are said to make up the island's white sandy shores. And restless ghosts aren't even its most daunting peculiarity.

Duet narration? Say no more!
Revisado: 02-12-25
Well… I have found my new obsession and that’s Nocticadia. This book BLEW MY MIND! I went in blind, only knowing the names of the main characters and that was it. I didn’t know anything else. I think my favorite thing about this story was that you know that Keri Lake did her research. Even when she created something, its foundation was based on facts. As someone who is in medicine, this right here was what stole my brain (Devryck stole my heart 😂). I loved the plot, and the mystery behind everything. It was fun putting all the pieces together (and being right 😏🤣). The sexy scenes were sexy 🥵🔥 And don’t get me started on the tension. IT WAS EVERYTHING! I loved how their relationship started and developed. Devryck possessiveness was 🤌🏽🤌🏽 As for Lilia… I have a crush on her. I loved how she loved fiercely. I loved her determination I loved how she didn't give up easily. I did an immersive read and let me tell you… the story by itself was already amazing, but add the audiobook and I was a goner! It was a duet narration, a first for me, and I don’t see myself going back to the “regular” audiobooks. The narrators were FANTASTIC. I think they did a great job when doing other character's voices. This book was the perfect balance between plot, romance, and mystery. Honestly, it was pure perfection! I highly recommend you check it out if you haven’t done so. It’s a a somewhat vague review with me just saying what I loved, but that's because I honestly think you should go in blind. However, please check trigger warnings! If you have read it and want to know all my thoughts, send me a message and I’ll rant away 😂

One of my favorite books of 2024
Revisado: 02-12-25
I love Arabessa! I think mostly because it’s the sister I felt the most connected with. I love how she literally does anything to protect her sisters, but her relationship with her father… seriously love it! That scene BROKE ME!
As for Zimiri, I wanted to slap him sooooo hard 🤣 I do loved how he was so protective, not only of Arabessa but also of Lakyra and Niya. I loved their dynamics.
They both would do anything to protect each other and make sure they are happy. This was both a good and bad thing because it led to so many things. At the end of the day I still absolutely loved their story.
Audiobook: the narrators do an amazing job portraying the characters. My only complaint is that there were moments in which there was a long and unnecessary pause. These didn’t occur between one scene and another, it mostly happened between paragraphs or in between sentences. Although it doesn’t take away from the story, it kinda affected my listening experience since it wasn’t a smooth listen.
I won’t lie, I wanted more of them after finishing this book and the reread desire was strong. Definitely one of my top series of 2024.
