Historia
Using stories from his own life, Tim Wise demonstrates the ways in which racism not only burdens people of color, but also benefits, in relative terms, those who are "white like him". He discusses how racial privilege can harm whites in the long run and make progressive social change less likely. He explores the ways in which whites can challenge their unjust privileges, and explains in clear and convincing language why it is in the best interest of whites themselves to do so.

Changed my view on racism and privilege.
Revisado: 06-24-18
This book was extremely powerful and helping me to understand that institutionalized racism is something that we are all affected to our collective detriment regardless if you are beneficiary of privilege or the oppressed by it. So that when anyone seeks to remove institutionalized privileges, it's not necessarily to "save the oppressed", but to save one's self and others, from a privileged vantage point, from the pitfalls of the disease. The disease that keeps us as a society from obtaining true equality.

Good computer security discussion, wrong cloud computing definition. A network printer is not Cloud Computing.

Do get me wrong, the content was great.
Revisado: 11-26-17
I thought this was a great book and it has really changed my perspective of Microsoft in a good way. I found the chapters on Quantum computing, the cloud, and artificial intelligence the most interesting. As a manager in the tech industry I also found the authors' comments on inspiring a workforce inspirational for even myself.
Now for the bad. There have been some business, self improvement, and even more technical books that I have listened to and could not put it down. There were times where I was staying up half the night just to listen to the book. Unfortunately, this wasn't one of those books. I just don't know what it was. I found the information really intriguing but it just didn't make me want to listen to it all the time. I actually struggled a little bit to finish this book. I think it had a bit to do with it being more of a dump of information that probably could have been told through some better stories. Then again, I'm sure this book would have been twice as long.
Anyways, great book. I would highly encourage people that work in the tech industry or any industry for that matter to read / listen to it, but it just might be a little difficult to finish.

Historia
Trevor Dixon has made too many mistakes to count. Sober for 13 months, he's determined to do the right thing: rebuild his relationship with his family and help his brother get Rock Solid Construction off the ground. Failing them again isn't an option. Too bad the first estimate Trevor goes on alone is for an uptight doctor with a superiority complex. A hand injury took away the only important thing in Dr. Simon Malone's life - performing heart surgery. He doesn't do well with people and has no family, but being a damn good surgeon? He always had that.

The Potential was there
Revisado: 04-24-17
This had the potential to be a great story with a recovering drug addict, but it fell flat in my opinion. More time should have been spent digging into why Trevor was a drug addict. Why Simon being a surgeon was an escape for him. More into the distrust that Trevor's family had about Trevor's every more.

To take a skeptical approach to American history is not to dabble in imaginative conspiracy theories; rather, it's to reframe your understanding of this great nation's past and actually strengthen your appreciation for what makes American history such a fascinating chapter in the larger story of Western civilization. And in this bold 24-lecture series, you can do just that.

I had always cast a questionable eye on history as I currently know it. This course has responded to some of doubts about US history and others that I wasn't award of. I really enjoyed this course.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Historia
Brighton McKenzie inherited one of the last pieces of farmland in suburban Baltimore. It has been in his family since Maryland was a colony, though it has been fallow for years. Selling it for development would be easy, but Brighton wants to honor his grandfather's wishes and work it again. Unfortunately, an accident left him relying on a cane, so he'll need help. Tanner Houghton used to work on a ranch in Montana until a vengeful ex got him fired because of his sexuality. He comes to Maryland at the invitation of his cousin and is thrilled to have a chance to get back to the kind of work he loves.
