Historia
The Winter Queen of Faerie has manipulated Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden into accepting a case to solve a murder and stop a war between the courts of Summer and Winter that could have literally earth shattering consequences. His own soul is up for grabs. Dresden must dig deep to discover that at time a willingness to accept a little help from your friends, be they a cub pack of werewolves, old loves in sheep's clothing, or a battalion of pizza loving dewdrop fairies, is a very good thing.

Great Story
Revisado: 08-19-24
The Story, like all of the others, is great! The ONLY thing that detracts from the story is the Narrator's issue with heavy salivation. The constant gulping after each sentence is not only annoying, but most of the time you have to rewind the narration a few times to get past the gulping. It is like listening to someone with REALLY bad table manners smacking their lips while eating and speaking at the same time. Other than that, the stories are GREAT! I have read the books and since it is impossible to read while at work, I listen to them to pass the time.

Historia
Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden is Chicago's only openly practicing wizard. He is also dead broke. His vast knowledge and magical skills are unfortunately matched by his talent for making powerful enemies and alienating friends. With little more than his integrity left, he accepts an offer of work from Lt. Karin Murphy of Chicago's Special Investigations Unit. He wants to redeem himself in Murphy's eyes and make enough money to quiet his rumbling stomach.

New Narrator
Revisado: 07-30-24
Any of Jim Butcher's books that are Narrated by the same person, need to be re-narrated. I don't know about anyone else, but someone that is a HEAVY salivator, shouldn't Narrate. The loud sound of someone gulping down their own saliva is extremely distracting. It takes FOREVER just to get through one book, because the constant GULPING at the end of every sentence distracts from the story itself. I have read the books and know the stories are very good, but my jobs makes it impossible to read books. The stories are VERY good, but the Narrations need to re-done without the the extremely Distracting GULPING during the Narration.

Historia
Heir to the Empire begins five years after Return of the Jedi. The Rebel Alliance has destroyed the Death Star, defeated Darth Vader and the Emperor, and driven the remnants of the old Imperial Starfleet back into a quarter of the territory it once controlled. But thousands of light-years away, the last of the Emperor's warlords have taken command of the remains of the Imperial fleet - and have made two vital discoveries that could destroy the fragile new Republic.

Good, but why waste time creating abridged books?

Needs another Narrator.
Revisado: 01-26-19
Someone with a British accent narrating something is ok I guess, however, when you have someone that is compelled through social association to add letters and/or syllables into words where they are not supposed to be you get something that is less than contiguous. I had to go through all three books twice just to comprehend what was being said, since very little was comprehensible throughout all three books since very little was pronounced correctly and it took time to associate what was said, with what was known the world over. Just a warning to others of the annoyance factor of trying to associate what is known with what is spoken in narration that is not in continuity with what is already known about the genre.

The rugged beauty of the Mount St. Helens wilderness is being haunted by a killer. Hikers, loggers, and local residents are dying in horrible, mysterious ways, and lawmen Bud O'Brien and Charlie Redtail are forced to think it just might be a monster...maybe Bigfoot itself.

Good story
Revisado: 01-23-19
Ok...Overall 4 stars
Performance 3 stars (the narrator needs to learn to pronounce names [City, State and people] in Washington and Oregon [there is NO "R" in Washington, only people from out of state that try to sound like native Washingtonians put an "R" in it...phenetic pronunciation of Oregon is--Or-reh-gun]; also, if you cannot do a good yokal accent, please don't do one at all...I was born, raised and live in Washington State and while only 1% of the population talks like a yokal, it is painful to listen to and difficult to understand a bad fake yokal accent).
Story 5 stars...I like the how the story takes a page from history and transplants it to modern day with a twist.
[Some may say that this is a nit-picky review, however, I am a believer in doing things the right way. It is how I was raised and well there are fewer misunderstandings and issues with people in my life.]
As a whole this is a well written and very good story with a historical event thrown in for authenticity. If the writer continues this type of writing, I cannot wait for the continuation of the series.

Pretty good.
Revisado: 11-18-18
The story was good, however, the narrator needed to be replaced with someone else. The person doing the narration was horrible.
