Historia
We hear it all the time: “Sorry, it was just an accident.” And we’ve been deeply conditioned to just accept that explanation and move on. But as Jessie Singer argues convincingly: There are no such things as accidents. The vast majority of mishaps are not random but predictable and preventable. Singer uncovers just how the term accident itself protects those in power and leaves the most vulnerable in harm’s way, preventing investigations, pushing off debts, blaming the victims, diluting anger, and even sparking empathy for the perpetrators. to account.

Historia
This book teaches frustrated, stressed-out parents that selectively ignoring certain behaviors can actually inspire positive changes in their kids. With all the whining, complaining, begging, and negotiating, parenting can seem more like a chore than a pleasure. Dr. Catherine Pearlman, syndicated columnist and one of America's leading parenting experts, has a simple yet revolutionary solution: Ignore it!

Practical, useful, and encouraging
Revisado: 11-28-22
ignore it is well written and provides easy practical tips for implementation. The author is encouraging and supportive while also being realistic about the difficulties in this kind of work. My only concern is a single line in which the author recommends ABA (applied behavioral analysis) for behaviors like head banging in children who may be autistic. Studies have shown that over half of autistic adults subjected to ABA as children meet the diagnostic criteria for PTSD compared to less than 10% of autistic adults not subjected to ABA. It wasn’t until 2022 that the governing body put out a statement discouraging the use of electrocution of children as punishment for bad behavior, and it isn’t a binding statement- some practitioners are going to continue electrocuting autistic children. ABA is abusive and I would encourage any parent considering it to listen to actually autistic adults who went through it.

Historia
Raymond Francis is the scientist people turn to when diets don’t work. His groundbreaking approach treats excess weight for what it really is—a disease caused by malfunctioning cells. As Francis explains, many of the foods we eat every day, especially the “health” and “diet” ones we dutifully buy to lose weight, have the opposite effect. Full of hidden toxins and lacking nutrients, they actually poison your cells and alter your weight-control genes, causing your body to put on the pounds.

Full of pseudoscience
Revisado: 08-26-22
From the first minutes of the foreword, the authors promote pseudoscience and nonsense. Not worth your time
