Historia
Hurt people hurt people. Say there was a novel in which Holden Caulfield was an alcoholic and Lolita was a photographer's assistant, and somehow they met in Bright Lights, Big City. He's blinded by love. She by ambition. Diary of an Oxygen Thief is an honest, hilarious, and heartrending novel but, above all, a very realistic account of what we do to each other and what we allow to have done to us.

It was a bit twilight zone at the end and i loved that. Not what I easily expecting at all, going in blind, but was pleasantly surprised.

Great stories
Revisado: 04-29-24
The stories are great and I really enjoyed this peek into variations of Mulder and Scully's future. Bronson Pinchot is a fantastic narrator and makes for an excellent Mulder. He maintains a perfect affect for this book, as he always does.

Reflecting on passing time, the elusivity of youth, ever changing present reality and an unknown frontier after death, this was a shorter, but very nice listen for winter storm season.

In 2059, two vastly different groups of people portrayed by the compelling trio of Brendan Fraser (Academy Award winner), Luke Kirby (Emmy Award winner), and Vanessa Sears (Dora Award winner) undergo cryonic suspension. While their bodies are frozen, their minds, still active and awake, are uploaded into a massive quantum computer. The first group are all astronauts, about to leave Earth on a one-way interstellar colonization mission. The second group consists of convicted murderers and volunteers who elect to serve their sentences in a virtual-reality prison.

Historia
Ray Bradbury brings wonders alive. For this peerless American storyteller, the most bewitching force in the universe is human nature. In these 18 startling tales unfolding across a canvas of tattooed skin, living cities take their vengeance, technology awakens the most primal natural instincts, and dreams are carried aloft in junkyard rockets. Provocative and powerful, The Illustrated Man is a kaleidoscopic blending of magic, imagination, and truth.

Revisado: 09-25-23
I really liked the first book, but this one just didn't do it for me. I love the narrator but the plot was so slow. Other than Sachs I found it very boring with 8000% too much Mya. She's the worst 🤣 I will Cliffs Notes the plot of Blue Mars to assuage the mental hole of not finishing the series. I loved Red Mars though.

Some good points but...
Revisado: 08-22-23
Best piece of advice: Cleaning is morally neutral. Worth the read just for that bit.
But also preachy to an unnecessary political extent. First half was decent and made some great points. Second half related washing dishes to global warming and the need to shoehorn in buzzwords was obvious and annoying.

The Battle of Serenity Valley was the turning point that led the Independents to their defeat at the hands of the Alliance. Yet the Browncoats had held the valley for weeks against all odds, before being ordered to lay down their arms. Command stated they refused to send in airpower because the ground war was "too hot". But the soldiers who were there insist that was not true.... While picking up a new cargo on Persephone, Captain Malcolm Reynolds is kidnapped by a bunch of embittered veteran Browncoats who suspect him of sabotaging the Independents during the war.

Historia
Moby Dick is an 1851 novel by Herman Melville. The book is the sailor Ishmael's narrative of the obsessive quest of Ahab, captain of the whaling ship Pequod, for revenge against Moby Dick, the giant white sperm whale that on the ship's previous voyage bit off Ahab's leg at the knee. Moby Dick was published to mixed reviews, was a commercial failure, and was out of print at the time of the author's death in 1891. Its reputation as a "great American novel" was established only in the 20th century, after the 1919 centennial of its author's birth.

This is an amazing book and I have listened to and read it over ten times, including multiple attendances to the 24 hour marathon reading in Mystic CT, on the Charles Morgan. Stuart Wills is THE BEST narrator and I will only listen to this copy. This is an amazing story and I recommend it to everyone.
