Roland Martin's audio version is most engaging. Sometimes not surprising, with disturbing certified data, while riveting, exceptionally informative, and concise. There's no nonsense anywhere on actual facts and clarity. Martin also, thankfully, summarizes very practical and doable solutions. Sustainable essential repairs. He also eliminates any fake politicized talking points in a book that helps us see without barriers, blinders, or purposeful partisan BS. Like no other book we've read in this early new decade, White Fear is a big loud warning about our nation's future, its success and critical survival in this century, in an increasingly dynamic global environment --- where we could end up being "number one" for all the worst reasons. Reasons we can actually prevent, with real courage and no cowardice.

Though the production values were good, the overall NPR News podcast was paltry. It was less than expected and needed. Especially in these dynamic times when more facts, context, and truly substantive information is critical. COME ON! At least 30 minutes of hard news --- no fluff or filler.

A Disappointing and Pathetic Waste of Time

Though Sachs starts out by noting human evolution in and out of Africa --- his Ages of Globalizaton devolves into a pathetically ignorant document, perhaps purposely, of the exponential economic, technological and cultural role of Africans over the last 6,000-plus years --- across the continent itself, Eurasia, Asia, Europe and the Americas. No amount of 20th or 21st century Euro-centric shell games can erase, marginalize or ignore the anthropological records. Sachs would have been more informed and factual if he had researched most anthropologist from these cultures. As a point of historical fact, remember, there has never been a "Dark Age" in Africa --- until the colonization and enslavement era. Expecting better, Sachs' lame attempt was a certified waste of time. Perhaps Sachs can learn why there are pyramid structures from the Sudan to Central America. Perhaps he can read, They Came Before Columbus by Dr. Ivan Van Sertima.

America: The Farewell Your, by Chris Hedges, is exceptionally enlightening. As with most of his books, it is unsurprisingly honest, real and profound. Moreover, it is a revelation to the soul. Hedges and this book emancipates your imprisoned mind --- if you're truly ready to be authentically free.

An authentic must-listen or must-read. Clarity will reign, and reality triumphs over ignorance. Thanks to Kurt Andersen, you will refuse to wear rose colored glasses again, or ever at all.

Truly sobering and enlightening. The Crash of 2016 is an absolute MUST-READ (or listen) for every taxpayer, unemployed graduate, voter, or hopeful homeowner chasing the 'American dream' while experiencing weekly-to-monthly nightmares. Clear and present knowledge about a very rigged game we keep playing.
