This is probably my 2nd favorite Nora Roberts book (The Witness is #1). I loved this story! Fantastic narrator!

Almost didn't finish

The author took WAY too long to get to the love story. I was so tired of listening to Fixie get walked all over and treated like a doormat. Then when she finally did get to the love story, the FMC completely sabotaged the relationship. This book was too much stress and heartache and not enough love story.

Once I started, I couldn't stop! I loved this book. Great love story, and well researched. Therese Plummer may be my new favorite narrator.

Good book

Dianne Duvall is my absolute favorite author, and I read the full IG series at least once a year. While I don't feel this book was as good as the rest of the series, I'll still continue to be faithful to my Immortal Guardians!
I enjoyed the book, but it was somewhat difficult to stay engaged in. I found myself having to go back and re-listen. Having said that, Dianne's storytelling is beyond anything my imagination could ever conger up. She also ensures that her research is on point, and I can't wait for the next book!

I love Colleen Hoover's novels, but this one wasn't my favorite. Why are there so many epilogues!?
The trigger warnings are there for a reason. It was just a little too dark for my taste.

I loved this book so much! I'm so sad it's over!! The narrator was excellent, and, as always, Colleen did not disappoint. I don't think she's capable of writing a bad book!!!

Very annoying

I only gave this one 3 stars because of the plot line outside of the love story.

Spoilers:

I'm all for the push and pull of romantic characters, but these 2 are just plain mean to each other. If a woman spoke to me the way Emily speaks to Jameson, I would have walked away from the beginning.
They're angry and vindictive one minute, then he's literally breathing down her neck the next. It was extremely repetitive and got annoying real fast.
Some of the other characters that were important to the story line, were lost amidst the blossoming relationship between E and J.
The writing is mediocre, but I enjoyed the storyline of the mystery in the office. It's the only reason I stayed with the book.
The narrators are good, but if you're looking to listen to Sebastian York, he has very few chapters.

Disappointed

At first, I loved this book. Couldn't put it down. Then as I got further into it, I became more impatient for the story to unfold. When it finally did, it was extremely anticlimactic. I'm so disappointed with how the authors wrapped up this book.
