Historia
In this “deftly and originally executed” (Booklist) New York Times best-selling novel, Vaelin Al Sorna must help his Queen reclaim her Realm. Only his enemy has a dangerous new collaborator, one with powers darker than Vaelin has ever encountered...“The Ally is there, but only ever as a shadow, unexplained catastrophe or murder committed at the behest of a dark vengeful spirit. Sorting truth from myth is often a fruitless task". After fighting back from the brink of death, Queen Lyrna is determined to repel the invading Volarian army.

an excellent conclusion to the story
Revisado: 04-06-22
I enjoyed the entire series. It followed a broad collection of characters without getting bogged down or distracted and landed on target.

Historia
After the latest mission of the starship Flying Dutchman, Earth is safe not just for a year, but for hundreds of years. The ship’s weary crew wonders what they will do with their lives in peacetime, but the enemy has other plans, and there is danger on the Homefront. Starring Zachary Quinto, R.C. Bray, Kate Mulgrew, Robert Picardo, and everyone's favorite AI, Skippy the Magnificent, alongside a full cast. Includes plenty of pew-pew-pew, original sound composition, and maybe some singing by R.C. Bray.

Great story, busy foley work

Great continuation of the story and I enjoyed the narrative performances. The additional sound effects and music were a bit much at times for me and often were very distracting. would still recommend

Historia
For eons, conquering dungeons has been the most efficient way to become a strong adventurer. Although not everything is as straightforward as it seems. Several questions have always plagued the minds of those who enter these mythical places of power: why are there so many monsters? Where do the amazing weaponry and heavy gold coins come from? Why does the very air fill with life-giving energies? Cal has all of the answers to these age-old questions, for a very simple reason. He is a Dungeon Heart.

Interesting story and world. personally didn't care for some of the performance choices, but it was not terrible.

Historia
A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of very curious photographs. As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets 16-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive.

Narrator ruined the book
Revisado: 12-08-16
The narrator on this book was so bad, I could hardly finish it. His accents were just awful and his inflection and cadence had nothing resembling normal speech patterns. I hated the narrator so much, it made it hard to even like the story itself.
I must admit, I listened to this after I saw the movie and had been told, as usual, that the book was better. However, in this case, I think I disagree. The ending of the book seemed rather anti-climactic, even the stand-off with the main villain of the story. It was obvious that this was just the first in a series and ended up feeling like the entire book was just one elaborate set-up, which is disappointing. Even a book in a series can have it's own rich, full story, while still leaving room for the universe and overarching story to expand, as is so well evidenced in the Harry Potter series (though few live up to that standard). The Hollowgasts as described in the book seemed a lot less frightening than they were as portrayed in the movie. Most of the characters seemed to lack some depth and description. The writing was not especially rich and even for a young adult/teen novel, I was expecting and hoping for more.

Political intrigue, suitably conflicted heros
Revisado: 07-23-16
Narration is well done and pleasant to hear. The story stays on track and doesn't splinter into too many plot lines á la Wheel of Time, GoT etc.
