Respect for the research that went into this... but

I rolled my eyes about a thousand times. Not only because Wil Wheaton is annoying after a while, but also because the writing is just too convenient. Everything lines up perfectly and theres always a tech answer for everything you havent thought of. I felt like 75% of the story was explaining why the story was “possible”. I could see how some people would be real into this. Im just not one of those people.

This is one of the greatest books I’ve ever read. I thought it would be just another Neuromancer, which was good, but this was so much better. So eloquently written. Poetry. I just finished it and I want to do it all over again.

One of the absolute best books I have read on motivation psychology, period.

I have read an endless number of books on motivation psychology, and a comparably large number of books on game design - this book manages to do both better than most. Beyond that, the humor and subtext of Jason’s writing is top flight. Finally, someone has elected to rise above the stuffy foo foo fluff to deliver something of complete and total value. Well done, sir. Thank you.

Cant believe people buy this guys books

I bought this because it was recommended to me. I couldn’t bear finishing it. This is some of the worst writing I
have ever tried to force myself through. That may sound harsh but I have read and watched scifi and fantasy for all of my breathing life - this is absolutely basic predictable garbage. I wanted to like it. I really did. Maybe his books are better now? I know this is a bit older. Sorry Brandon. I know you’re successful and all, but I am not a fan. The way you write dialogue, your use of adverbs, and cardboard characters were too much. Ugh. Sorry I’m trying to qualify here but maybe it is just sounding mean.
