Historia
Ashley Perrin is fresh out of college and starting a job as a community liaison for the Third District–the city’s only sector with more alien residents than humans. Ashley’s barely found where the paper clips are kept when she’s beset with constituent complaints–from too much noise at the Annual Lupidian Celebration Parade to a trip-and-fall chicken to a very particular type of alien hornet that threatens the very city itself. And if that’s not terrifying enough, Ashley is next up at the office karaoke night.

Fun listen

I was hoping for a little more depth, but it was still a fun, short story. The narrator was good too.

Historia
When summoned to a fantastical world and granted powers by a broken System, most freshly minted protagonists would strap on their big-boy boots and get ready for their stats to start climbing. But Fischer isn't like most MCs. In fact, he doesn't want to be a hero at all. Fame? Fortune? Power? He had enough of all that in his old life. Discovering forbidden fishing techniques and petting every cute animal that comes within scritching distance? Now that's a good time.

Fun Characters
Revisado: 01-04-25
I absolutely love the characters & especially Sargent Snips. Overall, I enjoyed the story, but felt that parts of it were too drawn out for me. I got a little bored during the drawn out fishing, cooking & eating parts. I will be listening to the next book b/c it is a nice light listen & I love Snips. I’m really curious to see what’s next.

Historia
In The Worst of You, just-wed architects Timo and Nia flee a murder scene, setting in motion a chain reaction of lies and betrayals that threaten to unravel everything they have built together. Twisted and propulsive, this thriller is told from the alternating perspectives of the couple and those close to them on Williwaw Island, each with their own motive to use the outcome of the murder case to their advantage. When a huge storm sweeps up the coast, trapping everyone on tiny Williwaw Island, it’s a race against time—and the elements — to stop the murderer from striking again.

Interesting Story
Revisado: 01-04-25
The story overall kept my interest, even though I disliked all the characters. Character development could be improved on. The best part was when the main male character finally stood up for himself in the very end. Narration was ok but some of the voices sounded too similar at times or possibly mixed up characters. Overall, I liked the story & narration. Assuming that this is a beginner writer & narrator, I see potential & hope to see growth in the next book.

Meh
Revisado: 01-04-25
I listened to this based on a high recommendation from an acquaintance. I’ve learned my lesson - never again! The character development is lacking, pacing is very slow in the beginning & rushed at the end. To make matters worse, just as it starts to actually get a little interesting, the story abruptly ends. As for narration, I am sure it was ok but I personally found the voices annoying.

The narration was good. Overall, the story was good but I felt like the detailed background story of the older sister who worked in the morgue dragged on longer than it should have.

Liked the voice acting. I thought James Patterson was supposed to be good but I guess that’s subjective

Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Historia
Concerned that technology is about to chase mythological creatures out into the open (how long can Sasquatch stay hidden from Google maps?), the League for Interspecies Cooperation is sending Jillian to Louisiana on a fact-finding mission. While the League hopes to hold on to secrecy for a little bit longer, they're preparing for the worst in terms of human reactions. They need a plan, so they look to Mystic Bayou, a tiny town hidden in the swamp where humans and supernatural residents have been living in harmony for generations.

Just ok
Revisado: 08-16-24
Too much chick-flick for my tastes. Narration well done. The character development is weak. The main female character annoyed me with her “independence” which I took as naive stupidity.

Sad
Revisado: 02-03-24
The story line is nothing new, but it’s well written & the narrators did a great job bringing the characters to life. It was entertaining enough to listen to the entire book.
