Historia
Cujo is a 200-pound Saint Bernard, the best friend Brett Camber has ever had. One day Cujo chases a rabbit into a cave inhabited by sick bats. What happens to Cujo, how he becomes a horrifying vortex inescapably drawing in all the people around him, makes for one of the most heart-stopping novels Stephen King has ever written.

I’m a huge Stephen King fan, this was just disappointing.
Revisado: 07-13-24
I had high expectations, but was very disappointed. Usually King had amazing plot lines, I thought this one was over simplistic and anticlimactic.
I did not like the narrator at all, she had very little range to distinguish different characters.

Historia
Stephen King's first full-length solo novel since Dreamcatcher, the long-awaited From a Buick 8 is "nearly flawless and one terrific entertainment," says Publishers Weekly. A strange car acts as a conduit between our world and some other...and the boogeyman of this creepy story is our collective fascination with deadly things.

As a hopeful novelist, this book gives me great hope, as it shows that even the great Stephen King is fallible.
Revisado: 05-07-24
This story is, well, exactly average. An okay story with okay character development, some happy parts, some sad parts, and some interesting parts, but lacking that sort of “pull” that will make you stay up well past your self inflicted bedtime because you just cant bring yourself to stop.
I did enjoy how different parts of the story were told from the narrative of different characters, and I think the audio performance did that perfectly.
Overall, if your a fan of King’s work, you don’t need to feel like you’re missing out if you skip this one. It doesn’t really feel like a King novel. This one feels more like a ghost writer king hired to make a quick deadline.

It's a blindingly hot summer. International visitors surge into Sydney's Darling Harbour. Two-year-old Tommy is sailing his toy boat in the park there with his mother Phoebe. Tommy vanishes into thin air. The following winter, taunting notes written as nursery rhymes begin arriving at his parents' home. Little Boy Blue, where did you go? Who led you away? Only I know.

I read the description and it looked Mildly interesting, but I was about to embark on a long road trip and needed to choose something quick.
This book exceeded my expectations in every way. The book kept me glue the entire time with very few dry parts. The continuous plot twists are nearly genius. This book keeps you guessing until the end with a satisfying ending.
The narration was also absolutely incredible. I do recommend.

Historia
Welcome to Hayfork, Iowa, a peaceful farming community nestled in the heart of a tranquil valley, a town that looks after its own. It’s a place where gossip is king, but secrets are kept from outsiders, and those who are born there live and die at the mercy of the weather, or the forgiveness of the land. Now a strange terror roams the sky at night, a dread horror lurks among the corn, and a troubled widow gives birth to a boy who glows in the dark. Death on the streets and blood in the fields seed suspicion and division deep in the valley’s fertile soil.

Allow this story to take you on a riveting journey.
Revisado: 02-11-23
What an incredible journey this story was!
I’ve been focusing a lot to more well-known classics lately, but decided to spend more time on indie authors and boy, this story did not disappoint.
The small-town setting with a paranormal aura was perfect. It honestly reminded me very much of a Stephen King type of story, except in the Midwest as opposed to the East coast. I may be off base, but I was left with the impression that Mr. Holeman probably draws some inspiration from King (as do I). I have no shame in saying that this novel is just as good as most every King Novel I have read.
The character development in this novel is incredible, with very strong development of several key characters. I “thought” I knew how the story would end, but I was wrong. The ending is great, and not what I expected.
It’s obvious Mr. Holeman put a lot of effort and emotion into this story, and frankly it deserves much more recognition.
I implore readers to give this one a shot, you will not be disappointed.

Historia
Daniel Martin has never forgotten his childhood encounters with Frank Watkins, the man who built his family a summer home out of cardboard and plywood. Frank's gaze was oddly confusing, as if he was attempting to discern the proper way to behave because he didn't know how to respond in a human manner. Since Frank obviously wasn't an alien, young Daniel thought maybe the man was crazy. In the end, Daniel would learn the terrifying truth about Frank Watkins. And as an adult, Daniel is about to discover there are more of them out there.

Great listen, especially for the premium plus catalog
Revisado: 04-04-22
I was looking for a good book while I await my next credit, and stumbled upon this. I had yet to read or listen to a Bentley Little book, but he has a fantastic reputation so I did not hesitate.
I did very much enjoy the book. It was a refreshing story line with a plot quite different than what I’ve come across before. Frank especially was a different character than what I’ve come across before. I really couldn’t put it down (or take my earphones out, if you will).
In Part 2, the story breaks from the 1st person perspective to other sort of short stories written in a 3rd-person perspective. I throughly enjoyed these stories, and found them to be the creepiest parts of the book overall.
Trigger Warning:
There is a Rape scene. The whole scene just felt weird, unnecessary, and out of place. It was irrelevant to the plot and felt forced. The book could have done without it.
I though they ending was just okay. I felt that it was sort of garbled, messy, and didn’t fully wrap up Daniel’s story. The ending didn’t do the overall plot justice.
If the ending was better, this is 5-star story. I’m new to audible and didn’t expect such good content on the premium plus catalog, leaving me pleasantly surprised.
