The story starts out slowly & my audio skipped around so I had to go back & find my place several times. Finally I just sat and listened to avoid the jumping. I didn’t understand the correlation between the parallel stories for quite some time & on the audio, the chapters were nearly all labeled the same. With the erratic jumping & similar names it was a strange audible book. Also, the male narrator was soothing & plausible. In contrast, the female narrator was annoyingly crisp in her American diction, leaving no question on enunciation but also making it difficult for her to sound authentic. Very distracting! I loved the story & will seek out more info as I was left yearning for more info on this water project.

Honest & funny this book made me LOL often. It also highlights the pitfalls of healthcare in a free market (US) as well as social systems (UK). After endless brutal years of work and scathing sarcasm, the book ends rather abruptly. The epilogue has a strange feel. It talks about doctors, income, politics, and sacrifice. Unfortunately, Kay complains but falls woefully short in his responsibility to allow socialized medicine to own its innate shortcomings.
