Never take a generic drug again

Investigative reporting at its finest. If you’re taking a generic drug, be sure to google it. If it’s made in India or China, beware.

Historia
Sports media superstar Clay Travis wants to save sports from the social justice warriors seeking to turn them into another political battleground. Having ruined journalism and Hollywood, far-left-wing activists have now turned to sports. Travis argues it’s time for right-thinking fans everywhere to put down their beers and reclaim their teams and their traditions. In Republicans Buy Sneakers, Too, he replays the arguments he’s won and lays out all the battles ahead. His goal is simple: to make sports great again.

Great Listen, Awesome Book
Revisado: 01-16-19
Should be read or listened to by all sports fans, athletes, broadcasters, CEOs and even politicians.
This book sat on my wish list for months, recommended by Audible based on my other listens. Never having heard of Clay Travis, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But being an independent minded sports fan, I decide to give it a try. And boy am I glad I did. 100% Five Stars.
Clay shines a bright light on what’s happening in sports today: Political correctness abounds. Fear of being labeled racist results in one-side debates. Athletes who express liberal political views are praised. Broadcasters with conservative viewpoints don’t exist. The bubble is bursting at ESPN. Don't feel sorry for Colin Kapernick. Why are Jordan's shoes more popular today than LeBron's? Where is Equality for the workers who make shoes in Asia for the sum total of $3 per day? Best of all, Clay supports his opinions with facts, laying out various arguments clearly and concisely.
One story that didn’t make the book is that of Howard Cosell. Since Clay is post boomer, he may not remember Cosell. I would argue that Cosell is one of the ten best sports broadcasters ever and number one of his generation. However, there is one stain on his body of work. During a MNF game in 1983, Cosell said in reference to a wide receiver that just caught his sixth pass of the game, “that little monkey gets loose doesn’t he”. That comment brought immediate criticism as being racist and drew demands that Cosell apologize. But Cosell refused, stating that this was a comment he’d previously used for athletes of all races. The story quickly died and he continued his broadcast career at ABC Sports.
Now fast forward to 2018. Imagine that same comment made during a MNF game. The social media firestorm would be huge. Even with no racial intent, sincerest apology and subsequent remorse, career over. Within the day, said ESPN broadcaster would be fired, period, the end. If you think this is unfair, then for sure you’ll like this book. If you think this is progress, then put yourself in the broadcaster’s shoes and read Clay’s book anyway.
Note to Clay. If you happen to see this review, Cosell too started his career as a lawyer. If he were alive to read Republican's Buy Sneakers, Too, I’m sure he’d say, Thanks "for telling it like it is". I have since signed up for your Daily Outkick email. Not a Twitter user but if I ever do, you'll be one of my first follows.

Historia
In a book that’s both accessible and enlightening, Rebecca Friedrichs recounts her 30-year odyssey as an elementary school teacher who comes face to face with the forces dividing and corrupting our schools and culture - state and national teachers’ unions. An exciting true story that features real-life testimonies of teachers, parents, and kids as well as political and social commentary, Rebecca’s journey leads her to the realization that the only hope for America’s schools and families is returning authority to parents and teachers while lessening the grip of state and national unions.

Every Parent and Teacher Should Read this Book
Revisado: 01-02-19
Kudos to Ms. Freidrichs for Standing up to Goliath. It took a tremendous amount of courage to write this book. Her goal of allowing teacher's to opt out of union representation is great. But the bigger picture here is the corruption and abuse that takes place in our political system. Democratic controlled state legislatures give unions most everything they want in exchange for union endorsement and financial support of their candidates. It is a rotten system. Collective bargaining should be banned in the public sector. Politics as usual equals more spending equals higher taxes equals taxpayer rebellion and ultimately a collapse in public pensions.

Historia
Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett reveals the real story behind Hillary Clinton’s deep state collaborators in government and exposes their nefarious actions during and after the 2016 election. This audiobook reveals how persons within the FBI and Barack Obama’s Justice Department worked improperly to help elect Hillary Clinton and defeat Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election. When this suspected effort failed, those same people appear to have pursued a contrived investigation of President Trump in an attempt to undo the election results and remove him as president.

I am not a Trump fan. However, this book provides much evidence as to how he is being mistreated. Shame to the DC establishment.

Historia
In 2014, Theranos founder and CEO Elizabeth Holmes was widely seen as the next Steve Jobs: a brilliant Stanford dropout whose startup “unicorn” promised to revolutionize the medical industry with its breakthrough device, which performed the whole range of laboratory tests from a single drop of blood. Backed by investors such as Larry Ellison and Tim Draper, Theranos sold shares in a fundraising round that valued the company at more than $9 billion, putting Holmes’s worth at an estimated $4.5 billion.

Powerful Investigative Journalism
Revisado: 09-17-18
Truly amazing story about one woman's drive to put her mark on the world. All starts well with an altruistic vision, moves forward with charisma combined with secrecy and deception, and ends with epic failure. The final chapter has yet to be written as criminal charges come to trial. Elizabeth Holmes and Sunny Balwani deserve to be sent away for a very long time.
Loved this book. Well written story, excellent narration and just the right length.
