I’m not sure what I expected from Cassidy Hutchinson’s book, but I got a well written, beautifully read morality story we should all heed, both for its timeless universality and for its relevance to our lives right now.

Beware of unrealistic expectations !

Some reviewers are disappointed in these fine novellas because they are not novels. Yes, there is not the “time” to round out some characters or to introduce half a dozen subplots. But I see the beauty of these novellas in their simplicity of plot and in the sharp, sure strokes of description and dialogue— sometimes closer to poetry than to prose. No, they are not novels; they are better.
