Historia
Does nature really make us feel better? The 3-Day Effect takes a look at the science behind why being in the wild can make us happier, healthier, and more creative. Whether it’s rafting down Utah’s Green River, hiking in Utah’s wilderness, or walking through Rock Creek Park in Washington, DC, scientists are finding that the more exposure humans have to nature, the more we can benefit from reduced anxiety, enhanced creativity, and overall well-being.

Affirming...
Revisado: 05-16-19
So, the book is okay. It could be a bit shorter but worth the pick. It was affirming if nothing else.
I think I'm biased. I'm a Utah native, a U of U alum, trail runner, hiker, hunter, and I literally drive over a mountain to get to work. Hearing that people don't know how to camp or eat smores was shocking -- and a little sad. :( But I'm happy to hear about their positive experiences and strength found.
Also, I am a veteran that came back to civilian-ness and was a bit lost. Like one of the veterans, I lost my fiancé to my own inability to see beyond myself and struggled to find my general level. Without any reading, prodding, or counseling, I returned to those "Aristotelian essentials" that my dad and brother taught me and spent months hiking and hunting and mountain biking. I reset. I did King's Peak in the Uintahs solo; I remember waking amidst a herd of moose in a back drop of a cathedral of peaks. Beautiful.
Subsequently, I got my life together, made solid plans, completed my education, and I'm an attorney now. So, yes, mountains saved me. I have trails that I walk that are like church. The book affirms what I learned anecdotally. Where would I be without my mountains?
Check it out. Consider reading some other authors on the back end like John Muir, Krakuer, Jack London, Thureau, John Brown Jr., and Gary Paulsen.

Christmas Scarecrows?
Revisado: 02-10-19
Great story. It's a bit antiCatholic but it can be overlooked since it's over 100 years old and from Britain after all. Get it. You'll be creeped by whistles and scarecrows ever after.

Historia
Diddy, Dr. Dre, and Jay-Z lifted themselves from childhood adversity into tycoon territory, amassing levels of fame and wealth that not only outshone all other contemporary hip-hop artists, but with a combined net worth of well over two billion dollars made them the three richest American musicians, period. Yet their fortunes have little to do with selling their own albums: between Diddy's Ciroc vodka, Dre's three billion dollar sale of his Beats headphones to Apple, and Jay-Z's Tidal streaming service and other assets, these artists have transcended pop music fame to become moguls.

Dan Fessler is Better!
Revisado: 08-08-16
I'm sure this lecturer is a competent attorney but he is not a good lecturer. As an attorney, I can vouch for the relevance to the common law material in the lecture even though this lecture comes from the early 1990s. His lecture outline and style is annoying and sadly boring. Plus, you can hear him snort his nose and drink. This is gross and bugs after him do it over and over. Search for Professor Dan Fessler's lectures on contracts. He is from UC Davis Law and has great lectures.
