I loved this book growing up. It was the first book as a child that I finished so not only is nostalgic but it's simply made better by Michael's voices and connotations throughout. I've listened to this at least a dozen times and I know I'll come back very soon. This story is not only filled with the monsters of the supernatural but the monsters of emotions that live inside us like a bomb waiting to detonate should the circumstances come about. Grief is the real monster of this story.

Tim Campbell did an amazing job with this narration. A truly haunting tale that tells the back story of the possession that occurs in the beginning of the movie. Worth the time to listen 100%!

I’ve been a long time neutral proponent of capital punishment especially since it’s been reported that we’ve executed several innocent people in the past that were exonerated after the fact by DNA testing. This book offers a first person perspective of the humanity and depravity involved in our capital punishment system. 100% worth the read or listen.

I saw this movie way back when it was first released never knowing that it was a book. Scott Brick does a phenomenal job depicting the desperation of all the characters male and female and you’ll be hooked in the first chapter. Amazing work by both author and narrator
